Comin Home For The Holidays

Summary:

Clark takes Lois home for Christmas

Notes:

Hello everyone! I'm super super new to the DC fandom so I'm not familiar with all the lore. This story was inspired by me and my friend going back and forth about our Superman head canons. Who knows maybe Kara or Bruce will make an appearance...

(See the end of the work for more notes.)

Work Text:

“Lois, you don't need to worry, my Ma and Pa already love you. They’ve even found a way to read all your articles on the computer, I’m not sure how they managed to do that but they did.” Clark reassures me, taking his eyes off the road for a moment to smile at me.

“Of course I know that logically Clark, but the nerves are still there,” I say putting the bookmark in my book, it’s too dark to read. We’ve been driving for what feels like years now. The Christmas season is coming up so I decided to go with Clark back to his hometown Smallville. The drive from Metropolis to Smallville is a very long one, about twenty hours. We left Metropolis yesterday and stopped in Indiana at a motel, then in the morning we got back in the car and kept driving.

The motel we stayed in was not the greatest if I’m being nice. Clark said I just had “charm” but he would say that about a pig sty. We got there super there super late at night and the lady at the desk was not having it. There were only a few rooms left and they were all crappy, though I’m not sure the others would’ve been any better.

Our room had one bed, the tiniest bathroom known to man, and no tv. Clark was about ready to collapse once we got in the bedroom. “Come to beddddd Lois,” he whined from the bed. Of course I couldn’t resist him and immediately got in bed.

“You’re gonna Smallville. I’m gonna take you bowling, and we can go to the movies, and there’s this really good burrito place” Clark excitedly says. Clark starts to practically vibrate with excitement as we drive past a sign that says “Welcome to Smallville.” I’ve been to his parents house briefly once, the time he got kryptonite poisoning, but I was too focused on making sure he was ok that I didn't really pay attention to anything else.

As we’re pulling into the long gravel driveway his mom is already coming to meet us, a giant smile on her face. His dad is soon to follow, pulling on his coat as he exits the house. “Martha, you forgotca your coat. It’s cold,” Clark’s dad says as he walks towards the car.

“Hi Ma,” Clark says happily as he steps out of the truck, hugging his mom. It’s funny seeing this huge man next to this sweet old lady.

“I don’t care that it’s cold, I need to see my baby,” His mom says, rubbing his arms gently. “Lois, how are you sweetheart?” She says, turning her attention to me.

“I’m doing fine Mrs. Kent. Just a bit tired from the drive,” I smile at her. Seeing Clark’s Mom and Dad, or as he says Ma and Pa, makes me understand why Clark is the way he is. His parents are so loving, I can hardly believe he isn’t related to them.

“Call me Ma sweetie, or Martha if you’d like,” She smiles. “Now get inside, I prepared Clark's bedroom for you two.”

Clark gets our bags, not letting me help in the slightest. “Go inside and get comfy. I’m sure Ma is ready to talk your ear off,” he says, grabbing another bag from the trunk, his bicep flexing. Clark's childhood home is a smaller sort of house, perfect for a family of three. Even though the house is small, the farm is not. The Kent’s home is surrounded by lots of land, a giant red barn lives on the property too. I can hear the soft moos of the cows coming from the barn.

Martha walks with me up the gravel driveway, opening the creaky screen door to let me in the house. “Take off your shoes and I’ll show you to Clark’s bedroom. I set up the air mattress on the floor for ya, made it nice and comfy.”

“Thank you so much, I’m glad to be here. You and your husband are so welcoming,” I smile as she guides me to Clark's room. It’s pretty small, band posters and other things from Clark's youth. The bed is a small twin with a giant quilt covering it, his pillows look freshly fluffed. I smile at the sight of the small dog stuffed animal on his pillow.

“We’re happy to have you hon. Do you want a cup of hot coco, it’s Clark’s favorite,” Martha asks.

“Uh yes please thank you,” I say sitting on the bed as Martha exits the room. I’m not waiting long before I hear Clark's voice in the kitchen and his footsteps down the hall. He smiles at me, taking off his glasses and setting them on his nightstand.

“You comfy? He asks, setting down the bags on the floor, his attention still on me.

“Yeah, your mom is really nice,” I say, running my hand over the blanket on his bed. He nods and walks over to the bed, pulling me into a hug. Clark loves his cuddles, always pulling me close, whether we’re on the couch or in bed, doesn’t matter as long as I’m close. I run my fingers through his hair gently. “Are you tired?”

“Yeah,” he yawns. “I need some sleep. I’ve been driving for five years,” he groans into my neck, biting my skin.

“Clark! I got your hot chocolate,” Martha's voice travels down the hallway into Clark's room. He pulls away gently looking up at his mom as she enters holding two mugs. “Aw Clark,” she kisses his forehead and hands him the mismatched mugs. “Be careful they’re hot. Good night sweetheart. Good night to you too Loism” Martha says to Clark and me and exits the bedroom, closing the door gently.

After finishing our drinks Clark gets on the floor and starts digging through our bags to find our pajamas. “Do you want to sleep on my bed?” He asks, pulling out my pajamas from my bag and handing them to me. His smile is wide as he looks up at me.

I shake my head and chuckle. “No, why would I do that,” I kiss his forehead and rub his shoulder.  “No peaking,” I joke and turn around to change. As I’m pulling on my tank top I hear Clark shuffle towards me, his hands settle on my hips,

“You’re so gorgeous,” he mumbles and kisses my spine lovingly. I smile and turn around to look at him, getting on my knees to get at his level.

“I could say the same thing about you,” my fingers tangled in his hair and pulled him into a kiss. Clark groans against my mouth quietly. His hands wander my back as he kisses me, we start to float after a moment but I’m enjoying this too much to care.

I pull away once I feel my back hit the air mattress. Clark smiles lightly before pulling the blanket over us. “Night Lois.”

Notes:

This was a bit short but I'll make more so be on the look out I guess.
