Olruggio peered at himself in the bathroom mirror, neck strained and eyes squinted until finally, he saw it. A hair! Finally, after fifteen long years, he was a man! The hair peeked out from the pointed scar between his pecs. Perfectly symbolic, he thought. Grinning wide, he opened the door to his and Qifrey's shared room.
“Notice anything?” He asked with his head held high.
“Um…” Qifrey set their book down on the bed where he sat. “You're naked?”
Olruggio huffed. “First of all, not naked. Second of all,” he puffed out his chest. “I grew a chest hair!”
Qifrey studied him closely for a moment before softening his expression. “Oh, Olly, you're so handsome and masculine.”
“I- I- Qifrey! Y-you can't just say things like that!” Olruggio's brown complexion turned a reddish purple with a flustered blush.
“Why not?” Qifrey giggled quietly as he watched Olruggio frantically search the room for a clean shirt. “I'm telling the truth.”
“You're making it worse!!” The boy hid his burning face behind his hands.
“Aww,’ cooed Qifrey. They stood up and gently took Olruggio's wrists in his hands, slowly pulling them down and away from his blushing face. “You needn't be embarrassed, Olly.”
“I-I'm not embarrassed… I'm just… D'ya really think it’s cool?” Qifrey nodded. “Well… Me too!”
“Cute.”
Olruggio groaned. “Qifrey!!!”
All the other could do was attempt to stifle a laugh. Truthfully, they could barely see the single hair donning the boy's chest, but if it made his star shine, then who was he to put out that light?
