Herman has never been good with getting jobs. Last time he had a job it was as a shelf stocker, he got the products all wet and was soon fired after his first day. He wasn’t even going to get paid on his first day.
His heart was never in living a “normal” life, ever since he was a little kid he would spit up water and flood the basement and so on.
He was never good with friends either. He doesn’t like to think about that.
Herman.. No. Waterboy is going to make a difference today.
The feeling of mecha man’s fingers on his borrowed tie still lingers, he was so warm compared to the constant cold he’s used to. He touches the fabric with his gloves, wishing he could savor the feeling more.
“Waterboy?”
Herman snaps to reality, the stiff couch creaking as he gets up. The whole process is like a blur, a guy can only pay so much attention when the real Blonde Blazer is sitting right in front of him.
Blonde Blazer is even more stunning in real life. Her hair is more golden than blonde and fits evenly on her shoulders, symmetrical and perfect. She has that air of awe that comes with her that makes you just want to apologize for even looking at her. Which he does.
“So, Herman”
“P-please.. Ww.. waterboy- if. If you can call… me.. Th- yes I like that name”
“Waterboy”
This is it, his dream right in reach finally. Waterboy, SDN’s newest hero. He can already vividly see him shaking hands with the biggest heroes out there.. He might even get a signature from Phenomaman!
His first handshake, Blonde Blazer. This is too good to be true!
“Welcome, Waterboy, as SDN’s newest janitor”

Don’t get him wrong, it’s.. Great. Maybe he set his expectations too high. Who would want him anyways? His powers are inconvenient and constantly out of control. Water helps with.. cleaning. He can be helpful by cleaning. That is what he’s worth, isn’t it?
“Great to be.. Hh-hired.. Miss.. blazer”
It could be the cold, but he feels paler than usual. His heart dropping. This was his opportunity.. His moment to prove himself. Did he say something wrong?
Maybe he just isn’t powerful enough.
