“It’s okay, Reiner,” he said, patting Reiner’s knee gently. “I wouldn’t have brought it up if I didn’t want it.” Next to him, Reiner swallowed hard before turning his head and looking at Jean.
“It feels like betrayal," Reiner said.
“How is it different from what you asked of me?”
Silence filled the space between them for a while, and Jean allowed Reiner the time he needed to work through it. He wasn’t opposed to the idea himself. Having Floch in the bedroom had been fun, and judging by the way Reiner’s body was reacting to the idea, at least some part of him was into it. But Jean needed all of him in the game, and he wasn’t about to promise Floch anything before he had Reiner’s full consent.
