"Guess I should start probably when I got assigned to be Luther co leader." Ivy told them, getting onto the couch as her siblings gathered around her.
"We were 12 when I was assigned the duty of being the Umbrella Academy's co leader. I didn't mind it at first, if anything I actually loved it. Until Five disappared, and that's when it started to get worse. Dad always took his anger out on me and Luther, which by that point, I can speak for me and Luther we were used to it," Ivy said, and Luther absently nodded, "Then Ben died, and it got worse. The family ties we used to have were falling apart. Dad was always mad, no matter what we did. We were always arguing, the house was so filled with anger. I saw it in everyone that still lived there. I could feel It in myself."
"Then we turned 18, and you guys started leaving, one by one until it was just Luther and I. I could understand, and trust me when I say, I wanted to leave just as bad as you guys actually left." Ivy told them, and their eyes went wide.
"We thought you stayed because you owed it to Dad, to keep the missions going." Diego asks, and all the siblings nodded, including Luther.
"I mean, it was a part of it, but there's a reason more then just that on why I didn't leave. It was because I was so used to being a hero, I didn't want to leave it, especially leaving Luther alone with that monster." Ivy said, and locked eyes with Luther.
"Iv, you could've lived your life, yet you stayed for me." Luther starts but Ivy cuts him off, "We stayed to protect one another, and that's probably why."
"As I grew into a young adult, I realized that once Luther left for the moon, it was just me. And God that was the worst fucking point in my life. Dad got more angry, he got more...abusive. Now, we all suffer from the mental abuse. There's so many things about our Dad that you guys don't know about, because I shielded it from you." Ivy started, and her siblings sit up, more confuse but more intrigued.
"What?" Luther asks softly, almost terrified of the answer.
Ivy's eyes fill with tears, her voice thick with emotion, "There were times he got really close to me. He'd back me up into a wall, he would touch my shoulders, not like angrily either, I cant describe it though. Eventually around two to three months after he sent Luther to the moon, he sent me on a mission in Egypt. Not difficult, just helping the people there from some threat. I messed up, and got sent home immediately. Once I stepped foot into the house, he dragged me by the neck all the way up to his study. He didn't even let me sit down, but he locked the door from the outside, and I didn't know where the key was so I was stuck in that room with him. It started with the normal yelling, and then he got really close again, and that was the first time he hit me with his cane." Ivy continues, jaws dropped by her siblings. They wanted to say something, but she cut them off, continuing.
"After that it didn't happen for a few months. Until I wake up to him hitting me with the cane. He'd barged into my room at any time, while I was studying, or while I was working out, or even when I was changing, he didn't care. His stares bore in my head, I'd always feel him watching me, whether it was at the dinner table or if it was during training. Even when we had our weekly meetings all he did was stare at me, and hit me with his cane wherever he wanted to. He didn't care where he hit me, as long as he hit me he would be satisfied. One night, right when I was asleep for maybe two to three hours, he snuck in my bedroom...you guys can use your brains to figure out what had happened during that moment..." Ivy stopped, wiping her tears as her siblings faces contort to shock and anger.
"It became routine at one point. He stopped yelling, just resorted to hitting me and touching me without my consent. It was horrible, and I resorted to drugs and alcohol to make me seem like it was just a fever dream. But, when Luther was on the moon for a year, I knew it wasn't. Dad knew I was using the drugs and the alcohol as a cover up, hell he provided them for me. Over the counter medications, vodka from his supply that only he would drink, he gave me everything to keep my mouth closed." Ivy looked at her siblings, hoping they would just let her continue, but obviously, they all had something to say.
"Iv, what? You kept that a secret this long? I'm shocked that you kept it this long. is there anything else you need to tell us?" Luther says softly.
Ivy nods, and continues, "Right before dad died, he took me into his study, which was normal by that point, but he told me something I'll never forget. he told me, 'being in a world with people like me, who harass girls as pretty as you, darling, I want you to watch out for them. Am I ashamed of what I was doing to you? Yes, if I could, I would take it all back. but it is what it is. know, your siblings will always have your back. Even when I'm gone, they will protect you from men and women like me out in the real world.' That's what he told me right before he died. It stuck with me all this time." No one said anything for a solid two minutes. No one had too, their sister who they thought was so strong and could've stayed with Diego put up with this abuse for so long.
Ivy eventually continued, "I never told any of you about what dad did to me, because i wanted to forget it. Every night I lay in my own bed, and I think of the times he would come into my room. Right after dad had died, I started to sleep in everyone elses rooms. To this day I haven't slept in my room since the night he, you know." Ivy hinted towards what happened, and she could tell all the red auras surrounding her.
"I swear to God, I see him he's getting murdered." A mutter broke out, and she looked up at Ben.
"See, now you are the last person Id expect that from." Ivy told Ben, and he sweetly giggled, before gesturing for her to continue.
"My biggest insecurities when everyone came back for his funeral was that someone somehow would know. My biggest abuser was dead, and that someone would think I'm the cause for his death. I for sure thought someone thought that, which is why I never went to the meetings. I was terrified I was going to have to talk about what happened to me all those years ago, and at the moment, I wasnt ready to relive them. If I'm honest I'm not ready to relive them now, but here I am." she looks up with tears on her face. Her siblings all have looks of either concern or love on their faces.
"When we got launched into the 60's and I saw his face again. He sent me a smile...like he knew that I knew what he did to me, and that he almost wanted to do it again. And to be honest, if he did it again I'd never be surprised.. The night before we were gonna fight the handler, I was at my home, trying to sleep peacefully when I heard a car, and the front door slam, now I lived in the city so I wasnt really surprised, but it sounded like someone on my doorstep, and I didn't lock my door because the neighborhood I was in made me feel so safe that I didn't have to lock it." Ivy continued on with her story, and her siblings auras slowly started to turn more red the more she continued.
"At that point I was thinking maybe it was one of you grabbing something, so I didn't mind it. I tried going back to sleep, and I turned so that my body was facing the door. My door opened, and it was him. I wasn't surprised, in the slightest. He said, and I'll never forget it 'did you think I was going to forget you and the body of a angel? I may not remember your annoying siblings, but I do remember you...your the one who can see their feelings, right? What color am I now?' and I whispered, 'pink'... you can figure it out after that."
"Wait, what does pink mean again?" Luther asks, just as confused as the rest of the siblings were.
Ivy said one word, bringing the anger out of their bodies, "Lust."
"Oh, he's so done for whenever I see him." Luther says, the others nodding in agreement.
"The one thing that stopped me from stopping him was he made threats to me. If I didn't do this for him, he wouldn't do it for me. It was like I was his own...whore?" Ivy said, and Klaus immediately looked at her with anger.
"Iv, for one what he did to you was fucked beyond reasoning. But your weren't his personal slut. I never, ever want to hear that from you ever again. I've seen that life, I've lived that life, and what you went through surely wasnt it, because mine was consensual. yours wasnt in the slightest." Klaus said, so serious ivy started to giggle; which made everyone else in the room show faces of confusion.
"Sorry, but thats the most serious I've ever heard Klaus, and I don't know why I'm giggling because of it." Ivy giggled a little more, before wrapping it up.
"well, that's my trauma. Im working it out with a therapist so don't worry, im getting the help that I need." Ivy said, drowning all of their concern with peace.
"Got anything else we need to know?" Five asked, the first time he's spoken in a while.
"Nope, Im pretty sure that's it." Ivy tells them, and that's the end of her story for now.
