Summary
The hallway light is merciless.
It shows her everything.
Brittany’s head lolls forward, chin slick with blood. It spills from her mouth in slow, thick strings each time she tries to breathe, dark against her skin. Her eyeliner has melted into bruised smudges beneath both eyes. Her brown eyes are wide, glassy, staring without really seeing, the pupils sluggish as if they’re already drifting away.
“Fuck.."
She sits Brittany upright and pins her against the wall, one arm braced across her chest to keep her from collapsing. Brittany makes a wet, rattling sound, half cough, half sob, blood bubbling at her lips with the effort.
The camera is there, tucked high in the corner of the corridor. The tiny red light stares back at her.
