Work Text:
Pure Vanilla was walking through his garden. Today, he had less paperwork than he usually did so he didn't really know what to do. He thought he might get an idea of what to do if he came here, but unfortunately his mind was still drawing a blank.
There was a sound from behind him.
He whirled around to see..
...
..Nothing?
He stood there for a moment, observing the area. He still didn't see anything, maybe it was a bird?
Pure Vanilla turned back around and continued his stroll.
----
Pure Vanilla couldn't shake the feeling of being watched, every few minutes he could swear there was a sound behind him, but whenever he turned around, he saw nothing. He sat down on a nearby bench, then he suddenly had an idea.
After his awakening, his staff changed. It still helped him see, but now it was hard to tell which side was the front from afar. So as he sat up from the bench, he turned his staff to face behind him.
This would be a bit disorienting.
Pure Vanilla began to walk again, trying very hard not to trip and fall on his face. Then he saw something! It was a cat. This cat had white fur going all around its neck, while the rest of its fur was black, with a blue diamond pattern on its legs and very familiar eyes.
Pure Vanilla recognized it near immediately. He giggled to himself slightly and watched as the "cat" seemed to grow confused, then Pure Vanilla turned around to face it as it then jumped at the movement.
"Hello Shadow Milk!" Pure Vanilla said cheerfully while turning his staff to the correct orientation.
As he did so, the cat had disappeared into a puff of smoke as the blue cookie now stood before him.
"Unfair." Shadow Milk mumbled as he rolled his eyes and floated over to Pure Vanilla
"If you wanted to walk with me, you could've just asked Shadow Milk!" Pure Vanilla smiled as he started walking again.
"I will have you know I did not in fact want to walk with you." Shadow Milk said leaning back mid air.
He proceeded to follow Pure Vanilla.
