Attention All Students: Momo Yaoyorozu Kissed a Girl

Summary:

Jirou and Mina occasionally help run the school announcements with today's guest being none other than Bakugo. Class 1-A knew the announcements would be chaotic, they just didn't quite expect a delayed announcement to begin due to an accidental mishap that leaked Momo Yaoyorozu's business to the entire school.
-

"Kacchan?!" Midoriya squeaked out.

His loud booming voice fills the room again, continuing on in an angry rant. "It is none of our fucking business whose throat Yaoyorozu decides to shove her tongue down!"

For one second and one second only the classroom pauses, as everyone seemingly needed a moment to process what they just heard. A pin could drop, Koda could've been whispering, and they would hear it as the deathening silence was almost taunting. Then as soon as a mixture of confused and shocked noises and words filled Momo's ears, she swore everyone turned to look at her all at once.

Work Text:

The class droned on waiting for a lesson that was supposed to start ten minutes prior. With Aizawa waiting for three certain students that were missing, who were supposed to be back just in time for their lesson. It was an unlucky coincidence that the ones handling the announcements that day, just happened to all fall into his class. He simply slept on the floor wrapped in his yellow sleeping bag telling the class to wait for the three stragglers since he simply assumed they'd be back soon. They weren't, which ended up in Iida doing an unnecessarily long speech about time management and studies.

"It is three students," Tokoyami commented, interrupting Iida mid-sentence. "The announcements haven't even started for some reason and they're in another building. We're going to be waiting for forever." He dully said, glancing at the three empty seats nearby.

"Maybe there's something wrong with the equipment," Deku suggested. His eyes momentarily glanced up, looking at the empty seat in front of him that'd usually be filled by a certain angry blonde. He looked back down doing some light rereading on a recent page of his hero analysis notebook.

"Then holy shit, Bakugou must've destroyed the equipment at this point," Sero chuckled. "He's just that mad he got asked to appear on the announcements."

"Why did he get asked to appear anyway?" Hagakure asked, voicing aloud as she turned her invisible figure to Ojiro who simply just shrugged. "Usually it's just Mina doing a segment of the announcements and Jirou helping out with the technical stuff."

"The next sports festival is soon," Momo spoke up, internally noting the paragraph with her finger she stopped at, in the book she was reading. "He won the last one so they probably wanted him to say some words again." Or at least that's what she heard from Kyouka before school.

"Great," Tsuyu sarcastically said. "That definitely went well last year after what he said during the sports festival."

"We need a new speaker, the fact he actually agreed to this scares me." Ochako sighs, laying her head on her desk. "I can't believe I'm complaining, but can't we just start the lesson without them."

A slight ruffling sound could be heard from the front of the class. Slowly Aizawa emerged from the yellow sleeping bag standing lazily in front of his class. "I messaged Hizashi," Aizawa muttered. "He said he'll go check out what's the hold up. It may take a while since they're in another building. The announcements should start eventually, but since they're so late... it's probably best to start the lesson anyway." A yawn slipped past his lips as he pulled out a notebook from the mini storage compartment underneath the podium.

A crackle is heard before the room is filled with a familiar hissing-like sound and some background noise fill the room from the intercom above.

"Wow," Kirishima comments. "Just before our lesson starts."

"Finally," Aizawa groaned, his arms lying lazily on the podium, an evident slouch in his back.

"Oh my god," Bakugou's angry voice fills the room as he almost seemingly barks the words out of pure exasperation.

That was definitely a weird start Momo internally noted, though she wasn't sure what she expected when Katsuki Bakugou, of all people, is asked to appear on the announcements. Momo looked up from her desk in the far back seeing as Aizawa practically put his head down in defeat and groaned.

She could feel her heart beating against her chest, taking a deep breath as she let out an almost breathless wheeze. She instantly hid her face behind her hands as she practically deflated once she laid her chin to her desk. This was too unbelievable and too much to process all at once. It was overwhelming and nerve wracking. Everyone was hearing this.

Her brain practically ran a mile a minute going from question to question. From asking herself 'what was even going on' to an unrivalled sense of astonishment over the fact this of all things held up the announcements for so long.

"She has lied to us and purposely hid it from us!" Mina's voice is heard this time, the usual peppy voice now sounded genuinely hurt. "They've been dating for almost a year for fucks sake, of course I care! How do you hide something like that for a year?!"

"This held up the announcements!" Aizawa groaned, rubbing his head in stress. "Class, stop staring at Yaoyorozu."

She could almost feel so many eyes shift to the front but she could practically tell a few still looked at her from the corner of their eye. She wasn't sure if she should be glad for Aizawa's intrusion or embarrassed over the blatant call out.

"Okay, so like, who are you dating Yaoyorozu?!" Mineta's voice was heard so clearly amongst the slight whispers amongst other classmates.

Momo could be shot dead right now and she'd thank her murderer, or more preferably somebody could just get rid of Mineta at this point. She already knew the moment her voice was heard it'd come out in a shaky and rambling mess. Something she knew only her significant other heard, which was mainly when she confessed. If not that the moment she faces the class they'd be met with a complexion more red than Kirishima's hair.

"Mineta!" Aizawa commanded. "Out of the class and wait outside!"

"Fine by me," he bitterly mumbled. He got out of his chair and walked towards the door, as Momo internally thanked every angel for her teacher. "I can still hear the announcements from out there and I'll find out through that."

"Can we just start the stupid announcements?" Kyouka's voice is heard this time, an obvious distance away from the mic, but still clearly heard. "Who cares? Honestly! It's none of your business!"

"What the heck happened to even warrant this entire conversation," Tsuyu asked, sighing as she pulled out her phone.

"I'm honestly surprised Jirou, and especially Kacchan couldn't get Mina to drop the topic way before we've heard any of this" Midoriya mumbled, his murmurs always loud and distinguishable enough to be heard.

"If there's one thing about Mina is that she can be quite stubborn," Hagakure replied.

"Oh, so you don't care about Yaomomo?" Mina boldly assumed, most obviously fueled by her emotions in the moment. She tended to be especially if that emotion was something along the lines of betrayal and anger.

"And apparently she's prone to assuming," Sero chuckled.

From next to her Momo could hear Todoroki sigh. "Neither of them are checking their phones. I've tried texting Bakugou."

Her cell phone. Why didn't she think of that? Finally rising from resting her head on the table she, leant to the side to take out her phone from her bag. She was quick to unlock the phone and click on the first contact on her favorites list, clicking call, hoping for her to pick up the phone.

"Mina, you're so annoying!" Bakugou complained. "You've held up the announcements for practically half an hour! Get over it!"

Kyouka frustratingly sighed. "Mina, will you just calm down? Please. I'm sorry I didn't tell you about my girlfriend."

"Oh dear," Momo groaned in embarrassment, as she wanted nothing more than to disappear. She didn't even want to ponder on what the other classes were saying. They could all hear this. The daunting and overwhelming pressure, almost impossible to handle as she could feel her heart beating out of her chest. Something that was once private was now being broadcasted to the whole school. It seemed almost laughable at how unlikely and impossible it seemed. "Why did this happen? Is this even real?" Her questions becoming unanswered whispered pleas, as her classmates' words filtered through.

"Oh my god," Denki paused, his eyes locking with Sero. "Oh my god! Yes!"

"Deep down, I knew she had it in her." Sero laughed.

"Aw," Ochako cooed. "You know, they suit each other."

"I feel like I should apologize just for hearing this, when it's not even our fault," Iida murmured. He continued to fidget with his phone, now calling Mina for what seemed like the tenth time.

"Why did you keep it a secret?" Mina continued, as if she was interrogating Kyouka.

"Let it go, Ashido," Tokoyami sighed.

"Momo and I just like to keep that sort of stuff private," Kyouka spoke up, her voice slightly wavering. "She hasn't exactly ever liked a girl till me apparently, so it took a while for us to get into the groove of things."

Momo could feel the stares once again trace back to her. She failed to meet any of their gaze as she covered her face and looked over at the window. Only momentarily did she glance down at her phone, sighing at the unfamiliar sight of eight missed calls to Kyouka.

"Sorry Yaomomo," Ochako piped up, a nervous laugh slipping through. "This must be so embarrassing for you."

"Yeah, I'm sorry about this," Hagakure agreed. "I've tried calling Mina but her phone must be off."

Tokoyami sighed. "How are none of them picking up their phones? It takes a lot for Mina to put her phone down I swear."

Momo had a feeling it was due to a specific rule for those who handled the announcements. They wanted all phones to be off when the announcements are in session. Momo wouldn't be surprised if they turned off their phone but got distracted in the meantime. She could only wish Kyouka didn't listen to said rule, for once, for whenever she has to help with the announcements. Or at least Bakugou, who was notorious for doing what he wanted, didn't listen to the stupid rule.

"Fine," Mina dramatically groaned. "I'll give you a break."

Jirou sighed in relief, an evident grunt from Bakugou heard. "Can we finally start-"

"So like who confessed to who first?" Mina interrupted Bakugou before he could finish his sentence.

"Oh come on!" Momo sighed, a rare moment of her complaints heard. Everything was so embarrassing and she didn't even want to imagine what lunch would be like. She already turned off her phone after receiving text messages from students in class 1B. If she could, she would hide away in her dorms until next week. "Ugh," she sighed. "This is all impossible."

"Why hasn't someone stopped them yet?" Midoriya voiced aloud. "I'm not sure what classrooms are near there."

"Hizashi is handling it, some other teachers also ran out too." Aizawa replied, rubbing his forehead in irritation. "You'd think the principal would be able to cut it off somehow, but apparently not."

"Great," Tsuyu sarcastically commented. "I was totally looking forward to this podcast."

"Mina-," Kyouka started before her voice was easily overpowered.

"It was obviously Ponytail," Bakugou replied. "If Ears confessed she'd have a panic attack before she could manage to get any words out."

"Bakugou," Todoroki started, his voice pausing in disbelief. "Not you too."

Iida sighed. "This is somehow the most painful conversation I've ever heard."

"What the heck am I even listening to?" Shoji deadpanned, seeming so out of the loop and tired by it all.

"Oh screw you I'll have you know I kissed her first!" Jirou defended, her voice clear as it rang through the intercom.

Momo groaned, deflating in her chair as she leaned back. Her hands covering her face as she gave up in keeping her posture straight. The need to be lady-like completely disappeared as the situation wore her down. She sighed, "not the point, Kyouka."

Denki visibly cringe in embarrassment for both Kyouka and Momo. "Kyouka, stop. You're not going to have a girlfriend after this, at this point."

"Probably awkward considering how short you are," Mina laughed, her laugh slightly crackling over the intercom.

"We're practically the same height," Jirou deadpanned.

"What is taking Hizashi so long?" Aizawa groaned. He managed to ignore most of the bickering from both the intercom and the class in front of him.

"Either way you're short, Kyouka there's not much of you to enjoy." Mina's voice was teasing as she chuckled.

"Well Momo sure isn't complaining," Jirou rebuttal, a smirk being evident with every word she spoke.

"No! No! No!" Momo repeated as if it was a mantra out of sheer embarrassment. She wasn't even sure how she was supposed to face Kyouka in front of people anymore. How was she even supposed to attend school anymore after this? It was all too embarrassing, and the way they spoke killed her in a way she didn't know possible.

"Oh my god," Tsuyu snorted. "This isn't real! There's no way this is real!" She uttered in pure disbelief, caught off guard by the intense secondhand embarrassment.

Sero couldn't stop himself as a loud laugh erupted in him. "You're going to be single after that. Oh my god!"

"The moment these three are back in this classroom..." Aizawa irritatedly sighed.

"Hey, before you two kissed, did Ponytail have to call her parents and tell them she's sinned." Bakugou barked out in a teasing chuckle.

Midoriya sighed, leaning his head against his desk. "This class is a joke."

"Oh my god! You two are so annoying." Kyouka sneered, an evident sigh being heard before she paused. "Look, the point is, I'm sorry I didn't tell any of you my relationship. I'm sorry you had to see us kissing earlier. But at this point does it really matter?"

"Oh god," Hagakure whispered. "Please don't tell me she's going to have a whole ass speech. I can feel it. I'm scared."

"Oh my god," Tokoyami slowly uttered. "I'd just quit the school after this at this point."

It took every fiber in Momo's being to not do one of three things.
A. Bash her head against the desk until she ended up with a concussion that erased the past few minutes from her mind.
B. Jump out of the window of this tall building and hope she survived, just to escape from the announcements and her surrounding classmates.
C. Make some sort of tool that would break the speaker above them, with hopes that it broke any other connecting wires as well to other classes.
Yet, all she could do, without getting in too much trouble or ending up with some injuries was sit there and wait.

"I've never loved someone as much as I love her. This relationship is the most comfortable thing I have going on, and I was scared letting people in would ruin that. She means so much to me and I-" Kyouka spoke proudly, her voice as clear as ever as she spoke true to her heart.

The sudden interruption and the way Kyouka paused in her words, sent an instant relief down Momo's spine. She could only whisper a silent thanks to the universe. "Oh thank god."

"Turn off the intercom! It's on right now!" Hizashi's loud booming voice erupted from over the speaker, making the whole classroom silent as they cringed in pain. Some of their ears were ringing from the loud voice.

"Holy fuck. Shit. Hell." Bakugou ranted, in a rare moment of pure panic. "How the fuck do I do that?"

"What?!" Mina practically close to screeched.

A lot of shuffling is heard over the intercom. "I'm so fucked! How long-," Before Kyouka could finish her sentence the intercom turned off.

There was a long pause of silence as the class just sat there with ranging emotions. What seemed to break that silence was the class next door, Monoma's voice almost loud and clear. "Thank god that things off now!"

Aizawa could only tiredly, completely exasperated and done with the day, force himself to the class door to let Mineta back into the classroom.
-

Finally, in what seemed like forever the entirety of Class 1A was present. Bakugou seemed a lot more annoyed, evidently pissed over what happened. Mina had an obvious forced smile on her face as she tried to act, that what happened wasn't entirely bad. Kyouka's blushing face, as she covered her cheeks, ran to her desk as if that would help her avoid everything. The class watched silently as the three returned to their desk, staring at them as if they were some celebrity.

"You three are very late. Aizawa already left for his next class" Sero said, the first to speak once all of them were seated. His tone was completely innocent, acting as if he didn't know why the three arrived late in the first place. "I wonder what you three got caught up in."

"One more word and I'll fucking kill you." Bakugou threatened, turning in his chair to glare at Sero. One second away from blowing him and the entire class up at this point.

"Kyouka and I got banned from handling any future school announcements for one thing," Mina said with a forced laugh as she maintained that smile.

Kyouka bitterly mumbled, resting her head on her desk. "Whatever, I never needed the extra credit anyway." It took every fiber of her being to not glance at her girlfriend. She knew it would only be more embarrassing for her, and the whole thing was worse for her than Bakugou, Mina, and herself. The amount of text messages she spammed Momo with on their way back was definitely something.

"Yo, congrats dude, you're dating Yaomomo!" Denki silently cheered, patting Jirou on the back, before leaning closer to her to say something in her ear. "Well you did, I'm not sure if she's breaking up with you after this."

"Oh, true Kyouka, your relationship might be at stake," Sero commented in a whisper, managing to overhear what Denki said.

"Can you three just leave me alone?" Kyouka groaned. "I'm sorry for the announcement mishap, I should've checked to make sure Bakugou didn't accidentally press the damn button."

"Don't blame me!" Bakugou bitterly remarked. "Raccoon eyes just wouldn't fucking let it go."

"For the last time, I was betrayed by my best friend." Mina replied, finally letting the forced smile drop. "I already apologised on the way here."

Momo looked up, her eyes peeking through, noticing how Sero or atleast one of her classmates were just about to speak. "Stop!" She boldly spoke, making any intentions to speak completely fall through. She finally, for the first time since the announcements started, met her class's gaze. Her eyes were almost fiery, evidently tired from everything, as if a part of her soul was sucked out of her. "We are not speaking of this anymore. No more witty remarks, and especially, not another word from you three." Her eyes, meeting Kyouka, the latter noticeably shrinking in her seat. Momo didn't fail to notice the mouthed apology as she looked at Momo. She couldn't help but sigh, her eyes noticeably softening as she saw Kyouka. Then, as if nothing happened, she faced forward waiting for their next teacher to arrive.
-

Omake:

"I discussed it with the principal and the head of the announcement committee and we have discussed a punishment for you three." Aizawa announced to the class, his eyes meeting Mina, Bakugou, and Kyouka. "You three are to handle the cleaning in the dorms for the next two months."

"What?" Kyouka paused in astonishment, briefly meeting Momo's gaze. "I literally got me and Momo's privacy made very public by two idiots. I think I'm least at fault than the other two. Punish me, I understand that, but at least balance it out."

"I'm literally the most innocent one here, don't throw me under the bus," Bakugou sneered back at Kyouka.

Aizawa sighed, his gaze returning to Kyouka. "Several students filed complaints that your," he paused, "'love ballad' to Yaoyorozu made them uncomfortable."

"It made us both uncomfortable too," she murmured. Taking a deep breath, she sighed, and simply nodded in acceptance.
