Work Text:
Two enters the hotel kitchen. And sees nothing there. He kneels on the floor, feeling nothing but grief at Gaty’s absence.
Gaty peers over to Two, seeing him looking at the floor in disbelief.
Gaty: Hey, Two! You… uh… okay?
Two doesn’t respond.
Gaty: Two..?
Two: She’s gone…
What? No. She wasn’t gone.
Gaty: I’m right here.
Gaty: Two, please… listen to me..!
Two was there, on the floor, crying about her being gone. But she was there. Was he CRAZY?
Gaty: TWO!!! PLEASE… I—
Gaty could tell by this point, that he’d stopped responding. To her. To the noises she makes, to the words she says.
And then, someone else enters the room.
TB: Oh my tennis ball factory, Two?
It was Tennis Ball. If anyone was smart enough to see this, it’d be him.
Gaty: TB, I—
He ignores her. She steps aside for him, but he was probably going to walk into her anyways.
Gaty watches as the pair of them talk for a bit, acting like she wasn’t here.
With a heavy sigh, she leaves the kitchen.
The same thing as before happens as Gaty wanders the hotel. People ignore her, like she isn’t there.
Almost like a ghost. Even people like Golf Ball, Four, et cetera.
Eventually, Gaty gives up and heads to the hotel roof. She sees Fanny heading upstairs as she goes.
Gaty: Fanny! Please don’t ignore me too—
She quite literally walks right through Gaty. Like a ghost. A phantom.
But eventually, she makes it to the roof.
She sits down on the edge, reflecting on what had happened.
When she notices an indescribable figure, to her left.
Gaty: Uh, hi..?
They look back at her, somewhat shocked.
???: You can see me?
Gaty: Yeah, and everyone’s been ignoring me, and phasing through me, and—
???: I see what’s happened to you.
Gaty recoils a bit. Who even IS this? How do THEY know?
???: You don’t exist anymore.
Gaty: H-HUH..?
It makes sense, but… how?
???: It makes sense others in my realm can see and talk to me.
Gaty: And you are..?
???: Nonexisty.
That… makes it make more sense.
Gaty then notices the crack in the sky, a sign of a timeline anomaly.
Gaty: Oh, One must have done this..! That lying, backstabbing little—
Nonexisty: Calm down, Gaty. I know someone who can see me. Talk to me. Maybe she can talk to you.
Gaty: Oh, right! Ruby seemed to be able to see you in the BFDI debut!
Nonexisty: Let us go then.
Gaty: Right behind you, Nonexisty.
And so, the unlikely duo set off for the Pillary Ruins. In hopes of finding Ruby, so Gaty has a vessel to talk to the world through. Nonexisty seemed like a nice guy, so maybe he could keep Gaty company during the trip too.
