Work Text:
It was the winter solstice. Percy remembered when he was living with his mom, she could never really do much because of Gabe, but she would try.
Then, when Percy found out he was a demigod, he would go up to Olympus with the rest of Camp and have a little celebration up there.
But since Percy was banned from Olympus, he never thought he would try to celebrate it again.
The only God or Goddess that never reacted badly to Percy was Hestia, and thus, was the only Goddess that Percy would still offer food or pray to.
Jason never reacted badly when Percy would do something to ask Hestia a question; he actually found it quite cute.
So, when the Winter Solstice came around, Percy made sure he had something he could give to Hestia.
Jason smiled softly as Percy gathered stuff, normal things he had when he would talk to Hestia, and light the candles.
They smelled like freshly baked bread and a smoky campfire.
Jason sat beside Percy as he put one of the cookies he baked right next to the flames. He watched as it sat there for a moment before it disappeared with a little pop.
Percy smiled as he leaned against Jason, watching as the flame danced and flickered, clearly happy about the offering.
Percy placed a little bit of bread on the altar, and it did the same thing with the cookie. Sat there for a moment before disappearing with a little pop.
Percy snuggled into Jason, and Jason, for the first time in a while, didn’t hate the smell of smoke.
