Chapter 1: The world has changed

Chapter Text

• This chapter is just a way for me to set y'alls expectations and also somewhat make sure that I will keep myself in line to what I'm trying and planning to write since I get distracted often by cool ideas that I often get from songs and musicals.

Overlapping and Degrading Copies

• Anyways, the chapters that will be posted here from now and for the future will be about the idea of the degradation of quality each reset of the world/system so do not expect characters to be the same as they were more known for now.

For example:

— Melia's Legacy variant compared to her current variant where she is far more likable unlike before.

— Aevis's appearance changing three times in the games runs from Legacy, 13th, and to the current design.

What these examples show is that again, characters will almost certainly not be the same and will change. With the most drastic change being Aero's who was actually quite androgynous thus the They/Them used for them and their own desire to use said pronouns.

Now in this AU (this is an AU not the original universe and I am not bashing or disregarding the representation of the LGBTQ+ community in Rejuvenation) Aero is bulkier and bigger to the point that they are looked on upon like one would look at a Past Paradox Pokémon.

• Now let me explain how this whole thing even came to be. This universe or rather iteration comes to being after too many resets or more accurately copies, the world has been copied and pasted over and over again degrading the quality of each print by a smudge bit each time. Causing blurs each time and characters to overlap with one another with some only taking on attributes of a certain characters appearance or maybe their own in the past copies and rewrites but not only that, they can also take on the personality of the character that they overlapped with.

The amount of characters they overlap with does not only extend to past versions of themselves but also other universes as well nor do they only overlap with one.

Just because a character overlaps with another it doesn't mean the other character is affected by the overlapping.

For example:

— Huey could overlap with Aevis, Aero, or even Axel and take on some of their character quirks and attributes. Be brave, be strong, and be chaotic but that doesn't mean Aevis, Aero, and Axel overlap with him and take on Huey's traits.

— Lavender could overlap with Aevia, Alain, or even Ariana and take on some of their talents, character quirks, and attributes. Be intelligent and quiet, be quick tempered and strong, and be warm and caring. But again that wouldn't mean Aevia, Alain, and Ariana would take on Lavender's traits.

Not only does the character somewhat change from how they usually are they also have their own past altered to varying degrees.

Aura and Power Systems

• Anyways to add to this AU as seen in the tags Aura is pretty much in here alongside other power systems in the world of Pokémon. From the likes of Infinity Energy, Aura, and Magic alongside all other extensions of these power systems.

But I will also expand on some of these since one of them isn't so expanded upon even in official Pokémon Media with that power system being.

A power that connect Pokémon and Trainers much like Bonds that power Mega Evolution. It just seems so interesting so I wanted to expand on it cause Aura is also seemingly connected to Life and Death but with the absence of it.

I've taken main inspiration from Hunter X Hunter for the system itself and some other animes that are well known for having something similar to Aura for powers though with their own twists as most of the ones listed down below will just be referenced and not fully taken from. Dragon Ball with Chi, One Piece with Haki, Black Clover with Mana, Yu Yu Hakusho with Reiki and Youki, Jujutsu Kaisen with Cursed Energy and Curse Techniques, and etc.

For Example:

— "Construction" Aevis' ability or power would need direct contact with a physical substance to use it more effectively and will take the subtance and change it into a different shape but if he were to desire to change it into a different object he would need to "Reconstruct" the object/surface touched by him would need to be taken and changed anatomically. For instance if he was to desire a pure diamond as big as his palm he would need 500g of carbon at hand to reconstruct it into one. Or he could use his own energy to form constructs but his energy will end up exhausted faster as he would be taking out his own Aura to do so.

— "Pain is to Gain" Aero's ability or power has to have them feel pain to gain strength. The harder they are hit the more they gain from it and this can stockpile as much as they want it to but that doesn't mean they can just go around and use that stockpiled strength into one punch cause it would cause it to reap off or just cause their bones to break if it's just at a lower percent of what would be a stomp from a Tyranitar or a Machamp. They would have to redistribute the gain they have all over their body but not just their muscles they would need to redistribute it to their entire body muscles, bones, nerves, tendens, and organs need to be reinforced otherwise the growth of one group would cause them to implode on themself or to be crushed by gravity if their bones can't handle the weight.

The main Power System itself is quite similar to Hunter X Hunter's system but with just a few tweaks and adjustments for the Pokémon world:

‎• Aura— It is in the same spectrum as Infinity energy with the sole exception of being available to humans to a much higher extent. While it is within the spectrum of Infinity energy, the energy itself is more so a combination of Life and Death energy that cycles through with each other with Aura one of the few at the center of the spectrum.

‎— Categories of Aura:

- Enhancers: Enhances the user's physical attributes or items that the enchancing is applied upon. This category of aura specializes in the Normal, Fighting, Rock, and Ground parts of the spectrum and to an extent Steel.

‎- Summoners: Creates or manifests a physical manifestation of a user's will or need—be it an object, chemical, or dimension that is independent from the user's body. This category of the aura has these various parts in the spectrum like Ghost and Psychic and being one of the lowest having only two in their range unlike the others who have 3 and above.

- Emission: This category has the weirdest and hardest of them all as it is very dangerous and brings a lot of risks to the user as Aura is 'Life Energy' as this category is often seen having an easy time to seperate their Aura from themselves. It takes lots of focus to safely separate the two from one another but when done it is usually used for ranged and having long lasting effects allowing them to share the spectrum of Fairy and sharing properties of Xernius due to 'Life Force' being severed from themselves. This category is known to have three categories that represent the three Aura Pokémon, that being Dark, Dragon, and Fairy correlating to Yveltal, Zygarde, and Xernious.

- Transmutation: Allows the user to alter the property of their aura to have the properties of others whilst also allowing full mastery of its basic needs. The properties the aura can take can either be natural, man-made, biological, and among other things. This category of the aura has these various parts in the spectrum like Water, Ice, Grass, Electric, and Fairy.

- Manipulation: Allows the user to control living or non-living things, including aura constructs with the main advantage of this category in combat is the ability to manipulate the enemy themselves when using in ambushes, stealth missions, or in converting an enemy to the user's side via its use. The main categorised aura typing in the spectrum is Dark, Ghost, Psychic, Water, Ice, and Electric.

- Utility: The most versatile of all the categories with it being able to utilize or branch into multiple attributes of the spectrum of Aura: Enhancements, Summons, Emissions, Transmutations, and Manipulations. Having the widest ranges of all in the spectrum with the likes of Normal, Fighting, Grass, Water, Rock, Ground, Ice, Fire, Electric, Psychic, Ghost, Flying, Dark, and Fairy are within the would be range of a Utilitist could use with varying difficulty depending on the mastery of the person or their natural affinity like how the move Hidden Power is for different Pokémon species and their S.T.A.B typings.

Final Summary and Expectations

• The world has died but it hasn't ended just yet, characters overlapping with one another, diluting others resolution and quality and enhancing others. Follow them and watch as it desolves back to one more disaster.

— Expect me to keep editing these chapters each release and for some to look similar to my previous works. If you have some criticism or praise please do not be afraid to comment them, it'll all be received kindly and be used to keep making more.
