To be holding Ariana like this feels surreal, no more than a nonsensical nightmare scenario less than two weeks ago. They have to concede, however, bathed beneath soft lights and tastefully placed glitter, that the atmosphere is more befitting of a dream.
Maybe if the suit was stuffier, and the girl slow-dancing with them was anything less than perfectly beautiful, they'd have something to complain about— and it'd help them feel that familiar spark of anger. Always there in the background, waiting to be called upon.
