Summary
Before Byleth (and unbeknownst to her, Dimitri) can propose to one another, an urgent report from a valuable ally mobilizes their troops back into action once more to a place called, Shambhala.
After a series of misunderstandings and setbacks prior to the campaign keeps them from professing their love, Byleth begins to believe that Dimitri is actually engaged to someone else in secret.
The thought is unbearable, but Dimitri deserves to be happy.
In an effort to be supportive of his choice, and maintain a strong front in the wake of her devastation, Byleth makes the difficult decision to return to a life as a lone mercenary again. That way, she won't have anything to do with the Church, or the Kingdom's court. She can just be herself. Alone.
