Work Text:

Kidd has been going to this school for 2 weeks now, he was absolutely flabbergasted that he hadn’t been finding stuff about  wrong ass principals. He still didn’t trust just any adult. His mother has been trying to get him to go to therapy for that. But he still refused, because he hated adults. Except for Bob and his mom. He knows it probably isn’t healthy to not trust adults, but can you blame him. The first 5 kindergartens he went to were basically run by psychopaths. And they tried to kill him multiple times, scratch that. They actually succeeded, if it weren’t for his powers, which he finally knew how to control, he would have died weeks ago. Kidd sighed, he knew that nothing could be changed. But the bodies still left an impression on him, just like the rest of his friends. They might not care about the blood, the way the red blood came oozing out of Miss Lovelett’s body, spilling all over the floor. The way her head was severed from her body in a clean cut before they defeated the robot. Nobody really cared because she was a maniac, he still remembered the way that Miss Applegate died that one run because an axe was stuck in her head. The blood that came out of there. He didn’t care, and it didn’t bother him much. But it was still not normal, it was still gross. Cause no matter how much you see it, it would always be gross to see a body lying down slowly stopping with living in front of you.

He knows that his mom is right, he needs therapy for what has happened. But he doesn’t trust them. When was the last time he could trust an adult without strings attached? The way he had to help the janitor, Miss Applegate, Miss Lovelett. It always had strings attached. The way that if he didn’t help the janitor he would miss an eye. Miss Applegate was pretty tame just like Miss Lovelett but it was still scary knowing they (Miss Applegate) were planning his demise or just being plain rude. Also that hatch near the podium where he fell through, and hit the ground. It hurt so much, so much. He hated it, like absolutely hated it. He sometimes joined Stevie and Monty’s trauma dumping club. They knew about the resets, because of course they did. They decided to not trust an adult with personal things or anything for a long time. Perhaps he would one day, maybe take up his mothers offer for therapy. But yeah, for now this would be enough. His new school and new identity would be just enough.
