Bulles?”

Sydney let out a sigh, not liking the idea of losing Henri’s dog, but—

She stared, caught off guard at the sight of a Scottish Deerhound lifting its leg and peeing on the wall, looking quite delighted with itself as a young man with curly black hair looked on in horror.

No! Bad Sirius!” the young man said. “Bad, bad Sirius!”

Hey,” she said. “You wouldn’t have seen a small, uh, a West Highland White Terrier come by here?”

The young man looked at her, utterly horrified.

Anyways, I’ll let you be. Whatever is going on,” Sydney said, before continuing. “I need to find my pup!”

Eventually, she found Bulles and headed back home, to find—

Oh.” Syndney nodded her head. “You’re a guest of Henri and his father?”

Uh…” the young man said, as Henri’s father swept in.

Sydney. I’d like you to meet Henri’s cousins, distant cousins from England,” Hugo said, motioning to the two young men. “This is Sirius Black.”

Sydney’s eyes blinked, while Sirius smirked, and for a moment she thought he smirked just like that dratted Scottish Deerhound the other was getting angry at, and—

She turned to the other. “You named your dog after him?”

What?” Hugo asked, confused. “You named your dog after your brother, Regulus?” And then he looked around. “Actually, you two brought a dog?”

Don’t need to worry about it, l’ oncle,” Sirius said, while the color drained from Regulus’ face. “It was a very bad dog, so I think Reggie got rid of it.”

Why would you do that?” Sydney asked.

He’s joking. I don’t own a dog. Nobody owns that dog,” Regulus opined, while Sirius laughed.

Something felt off, though Sydney wasn’t sure.

In fact, she wasn’t sure she wanted to know.
