Wenona didn't think she said no to Eloise Taulner often, though she could argue that she never told her no, but this had to be the first time when she hesitated, to say the least, to one of her girlfriend's requests.
"Beaded curtains?" she repeated in case she heard her wrong.
Eloise nodded. "I want to put up beaded curtains in our house."
"On the windows?"
"No, they're for the doors. I'll show you..." She showed her a picture of beaded curtains. They looked like it would be a bother having to constantly push them out of the way to get through the doorway. The beads themselves all seemed tacky as well. Normally, Wenona would have turned her nose up at even thinking of bringing this into her home.
It was Eloise asking her, though, so she said, "How many of these do you want on how many doors?"
Eloise's eyes brightened. "Just the bedroom door should be fine."
That, in her opinion, would be the most annoying place to put a beaded curtain. She told Eloise, "I'll buy it now."
"Thank you!" Eloise kissed her.
Wrapping her arms around her girlfriend, Wenona knew that she could tolerate one beaded door if it was for Eloise.
