Damon Maitsu and Jean DeLamer usually went grocery shopping together. For this week's grocery shopping week, Jean wanted to buy pomegranates, mainly because he had never tried them before. Damon let him, so at home, they were in the kitchen. Damon had cut the pomegranate to show all the seeds inside.
"So when you eat a pomegranate," Jean said, "you eat the seeds?"
Damon nodded. "Those are considered the most nutritional part."
"Interesting!"
He had the urge to tell him it wasn't that fascinating, but he didn't want to ruin his joy.
"How do you want to eat them?" he said instead.
"How can you eat them?"
"You can eat them raw, you can eat them with a salad—"
"A salad sounds nice!"
Their grocery shopping trip today had given them all the ingredients they needed. When the salad was done, Jean had given the meal and pomegranates themselves his approval. Damon was pleased.
