Mo Xuanyu wakes up slowly; his head kind of hurts, but he feels…good? Like if every burden he’s had in his life has been lifted from him. Not that he can remember what burdens he’s had. Honestly his memory is a little hazy. He hears footsteps suddenly and looks up from his comfy mattress layered with blankets and pillows.
“Good morning, Xuanyu.”
Mo Xuanyu’s eyes adjust to the darkness and he sees his brother? His boyfriend? He can’t remember who is who right now. He sits up slowly.
“Good morning, uh…”
“Jin Guangyao, your gege. Do you not remember me?”
“Oh…sorry. My head’s all messed up.”
“That’s okay, you had a bad slip.”
Jin Guangyao walks over, sits down next to Mo Xuanyu, and gently places a hand on his shoulder. Mo Xuanyu looks at Jin Guangyao closer. He’s dressed pretty typically for a Jin family member.
“What happened to me?”
Jin Guangyao doesn’t answer as he pulls Mo Xuanyu into a gentle hug. Mo Xuanyu can smell a gentle scent attached to Jin Guangyao now. It’s a soothing scent, but he doesn’t know why.
“...Gege, you smell nice.”
“Thank you, I know it’s your favorite smell so I put it on. I’ll bring you some so you can wear it.”
“Thank you…”
“You have something on your mind, what can I do to help?”
“...is my boyfriend okay?”
He feels Jin Guangyao tense up a tiny bit. Mo Xuanyu gasps and tears up.
“Is he-?”
“He unfortunately-”
They hear a shattering sound and light but swift footsteps. Jin Guangyao lets go of Mo Xuanyu.
“A-Yu, stay here. It seems we have an uninvited guest.”
Jin Guangyao gets up and walks towards the noise. Xue Yang comes around the corner and sees Jin Guangyao and more importantly Mo Xuanyu.
“A-Yu!” Xue Yang switches his gaze to Jin Guangyao. “YaoYao, you ran off without me, you can’t steal all of A-Yu’s attention.”
“Perhaps it’s because you’re a bad influence on MY didi. But I suppose you both deserve to see each other.”
Jin Guangyao steps out of the way letting Xue Yang run over to Mo Xuanyu.
“My little sweet candy, you look like shit.”
Mo Xuanyu blinks at him.
“I mean I still love you, but it looks like YaoYao didn’t take care of you.”
“…I just woke up, it’s not his fault. I’m so relieved that you’re alive.”
Mo Xuanyu begins to cry into Xue Yang’s shoulder.
“Why would you-?! YaoYao lied to you! Why I ought a-“
“No! I mean he didn’t say anything, I presumed that because I was hurt.”
Xue Yang hugged Mo Xuanyu tight.
“I’ll never let you feel pain ever again, A-Yu.”
