Summary
Academy romance, but not as you might know it. In this story Nyota Uhura also has a childhood that was changed by Nero, and this explains why she and Spock had a closer relationship in the reboot films. Expect some of the usual tropes found in Spyota/Spuhura 'how they met' stories to be turned on their head, and I've been told the erotic content is 'slow burn'.
NB - I am a canon agnostic. I research in Memory Alpha, and work hard to make my stories fit what happened on screen during Star Trek 2009, Star Trek Into Darkness and Star Trek Beyond. But the comics and novels ... really sorry, I just could not get excited by them. And sometimes I believe what became canon was not well judged. So you might find that, here and there, in small ways, I have acted as though I own the Kelvin timeline and done things my way.
