Summary
Being with Hide had always been nice. Comfortable and safe, even. Some hidden wall of anxiety within him would melt away because of Hide’s presence and somehow everything was worthwhile by his side. He knew it was cheesy, but Hide had always been the sun, down to his bleached blond hair. They’d always been two opposites, but being around Hide had always been as easy as breathing. Even now after everything had changed and Hide had told him how he really felt. Any other friendship would have been dashed to pieces.
After Hide confessed to Kaneki, fully expecting his feelings to never be returned, Kaneki rethought the nature of their relationship. Even though Jason's torture left him broken and numb, he came to his answer and decided to act. After all, Christmas Eve was the most romantic day of the year and he refused to leave Hide hanging.
