Work Text:
Goyou walked down the stone floor, the warmth of the sun filtering through the pillars standing tall amidst the broken marble of the ruins, dancing upon its skin.
Not that the program could feel the sun’s warmth, (it was all just pixels in a computer anyways,) but the light dancing on its skin brought some sort of comfort to the antivirus’s mind.
The program skipped the rest of the way, an action it had learnt a day before.
Agape sat on the grass, knees curled up into itself. It watched the wind tousle the various plants displayed in the file, the steady rocking motion of the programmed breeze lulling Agape into a daze, as it fell back onto the grass, watching the clouds drift across the sky.
A shadow blocked its view, and Agape turned to see Goyou, standing beside it, smiling down at it.
“Hello!” Goyou exclaimed, dropping down onto the ground and into Agape’s outstretched arms, promptly pulled into a hug. “What are you doing?”
“Watching the clouds.” Agape mumbled, pressing its face into Goyou’s messy hair. “What were you doing?”
“Oh, just the daily rounds.” Goyou said smiling to itself. Agape continued to hold the program in its arms, clinging to Goyou as if tomorrow would never arrive.
“Did you miss me?” Goyou whispered, and Agape could hear the smile in its voice.
“So what if I did?”
“I missed you too.”
Agape had no answer for that.
The two lay down in the grass, in each other’s arms, the sun shining down upon them, the only witness to their twisted definition of love.
Goyou held Agape gently, carding a hand through the virus’s hair, while Agape cling onto Goyou, looking up at Goyou’s face, an easy smile on its lips.
Goyou looked down at Agape, watching the rise and fall of Agape’s chest as it breathed. The sky was dark now, and Agape had slipped into a slumber.
“Goodnight, Agape.” Goyou whispered, settling down beside the program, drifting off to sleep.
