Bot had been debating on cutting their hair since they found out that they were actually a robot. While reeling with that fact, they felt the need to change how they presented themself.
They weren't Bow, only a dull imitation of her. They didn't want to be an imitation of anyone.
They want to be themself, and no one else.
It was a small step, but maybe cutting their hair would be the first step towards finding who they actually were. The only problem was, they didn't know how to do it themself. They would have to ask Test Tube.
