“What? When?” Remus replies, lighting his own cigarette with ease despite the winds.
“With the whole pity kiss thing,” Sirius explains, feeling his cheeks heating. He hopes Remus won’t notice, or that if he does, he’ll blame it on the biting coolness in the air.
“Oh, Christ,” Remus laughs, a self-deprecating little sound. “I promise, you did not make me uncomfortable.”
It’s New Year’s Eve, Sirius is freshly single, and Remus is right there.
