Iced Coffee for Xarla

Summary:

Xarla goes on a walk and decides to get a nice and cool iced coffee. However Xarla soon realizes that xe forgot xer wallet and so winds up not getting any. Xarla then goes for a walk the next day and makes sure to bring xer wallet this time.

Work Text:

            Xarla left xer house and was walking along when xe felt like getting a nice, cold iced coffee. Xarla popped into a coffee shop and ordered one to go. However, when Xarla went to pay for the iced coffee, xe could not find xer wallet. Xarla checked every pocket but soon realized the wallet must have gotten left back at the house. Looks like there was no iced coffee for Xarla.

            The next day, Xarla went for another walk and made xer way to the coffee shop. This time, Xarla made sure to have xer wallet on hand. Xe walked up to the counter and ordered a nice, cold iced coffee and paid for it. Xarla took the coffee with xer on xer walk. That nice, cool refreshing taste of iced coffee was delicious.

Notes:

Written for a Flash Fiction Month 2025 challenge.

This challenge required the use of neopronouns. Another challenge was that one of the characters had to redo something before the end of the story. In this case, it's Xarla getting xer iced coffee because xe actually had xer wallet the second time.

I'm not really used to neopronouns and I don't really use them in my writing, so I decided to just keep this one short.
