Dan forced himself to take a deep breath. “No. We don’t think like that. We don’t let those thoughts take up any space here.” He whispered to himself firmly.
Phil could have said no. He could have told Dan that wasn’t the life he wanted for himself, that he wasn’t comfortable essentially shutting himself back in a closet he hadn’t ever fully bee in to start with. Phil loved him, and loved the life they built together. And now they got to experience this new chapter of their lives together where they didn’t constantly have to be afraid of being outed and not having control over who knew and how they found out and when. He knew, without a doubt, he could go find Phil that very instant and he would tell him the same thing.
He took another deep breath. and then another. and then another.
“Fuck it.” He whispered to himself as he stood up and walked out of his room.
