Chapter Text
🎶Yo ho, yo ho, a pirate's life for me
We pillage, we plunder, we rifle and loot
Drink up me hearties, yo ho
We kidnap and ravage and don't give a hoot
Drink up me hearties, yo ho
Yo ho, yo ho, a pirate's life for me
We extort and pilfer, we filch and sack
Drink up me hearties, yo ho
Maraud and embezzle and even highjack
Drink up me hearties, yo ho🎶
From deep in the heart of Shipwreck Cove a thousand voices can be heard. All singing, gargling, or vomiting the words of their amazing lives of freedom. Everyone on the island soon joins in as the song causes them to break out into jigs on top of tables, chairs, and each other. Chaos and happiness reign here as pirates, both upcoming and retired drink their rum and shout the notes of the lyrics.
In the heart lies the biggest bar on the island. Over hundreds of bars inhabit this cove but this one is the most famous because it was the very first one built. Crowds of pirates wander through its halls. All of them drinking, dancing, singing, or fighting with each other, all soon-to-be memories they'll either cherish forever or forget by morning.
🎶Yo ho, yo ho, a pirate's life for me
We kindle and char and enflame and ignite
Drink up me hearties, yo ho
We burn up the city, we're really a fright
Drink up me hearties, yo ho
We're rascals and scoundrels, we're villains and knaves
Drink up me hearties, yo ho
We're devils and black sheep, we're really bad eggs
Drink up me hearties, yo ho🎶
Upstairs are many rooms where pirates can consummate their evening, whether it be with a woman or another man or with many or with none people of the pirate community do not give a rat's ass. Especially because pirates are on the seas for months on end and the only people around are fellow men whilst women are left behind on shore to seek comfort amongst themselves.
In the center, on top of a table surrounded by drunk singing pirates, dances one famous Captain Jack Sparrow. A bottle of rum in one hand his pistol in the other as he occasionally fires into the ceiling of the pub, a gigantic grin on his face. The 18-year-old, one of the youngest captains to sail the 7 seas is celebrating the death of the Spanish Royal Navy pirate hunter, Armando Salazar. He and his trusty crew perform the jig and laugh at their escape from death, drops of alcohol dribbling down their chins and onto their shirts.
🎶Yo ho, yo ho, a pirate's life for me
We're beggars and blighters and ne'er do-well cads
Drink up me hearties, yo ho
Aye, but we're loved by our mommies and dads
Drink up me hearties, yo ho🎶
Jack eventually stumbles out of the bar, dodging fists and drinking other people's bottles of alcohol, chuckling and muttering along with the words of the song which by now only a few could distinguish what is being said at all. His pupils are blown wide and dark as he squints his eyes to see a foot in front of him, he didn't know where he was going but he knew he needed air. Walking towards him is a woman of Asian descent, wearing a green dress and a shawl around her shoulders, her dark hair in a messy bun as she is for the first time not concerned with her looks.
She holds within her hands something fragile yet despicable as the pirate in front of her had ruined her life with the existence of their child. When she is right in front of the Captain, she impulsively slaps him in the face to sober him up before grabbing his shirt and dragging him to a deserted building and into an empty room. All while Jack frowns whilst rubbing his cheek, realizing that he might get slapped by more and more people the more he ages.

"Here." She states, forcing Jack to hold the baby. Him fumbling over it, trying not to drop the child. He looks at her unsure of what she is playing at, he does vaguely remember her from around a year ago after an unfortunate ordeal with mermaids but luckily survived by offering the lives of his crew members as payment. A memory he wished to forget as he drank himself stupid and had sex with the same woman in front of him now. A lady who is now handing over a baby. "Do what you will."
"Wait, wait, wait, hold on. What?" Jack is frantic now, unable to comprehend what is happening. His usually cool persona is washed away by the reality of the situation as he watches the woman walk towards the door and presumably out of his life for good. He quickly glances down at the thing in his arms, a whole human being that he has no experience with taking care of. He can barely look after himself for that matter. "What am I supposed to do with this?"
🎶Yo ho, yo ho, a pirate's life for me
We kindle and char and enflame and ignite
Drink up me hearties, yo ho
We burn up the city, we're really a fright
Drink up me hearties, yo ho
We're rascals and scoundrels, we're villains and knaves
Drink up me hearties, yo ho
We're devils and black sheep, we're really bad eggs
Drink up me hearties, yo ho🎶
"Raise him, drown him, eat him, sell him. I don't give a rat's ass. Just don't involve me." And with that, the woman slams the door to the room shut with a slam! Awakening the babe as he cries his heart and lungs out as if knowing what has transpired. Jack struggles, bounding around the room as he is unsure of what to do. The child still screaming in his arms to the point where thuds are heard from above the ceiling and below the floorboards, telling the kid to 'shut up!'.
He sets the kid down on the mattress and starts to bundle him up so he is cocooned/restrained within the blankets—the baby sniffles in confusion, unsure of what is happening. Jack nervously nibbles on his fingernails as he looks around for help that is not there. He paces around the bed, fear gnawing inside of him as he freaks out. What was he to do? He can't raise a kid. The kid would surely die with him, even by associating with his name, he would surely get killed. Maybe one of the older women on the island can raise him...?
🎶Yo ho, yo ho, a pirate's life for me
We're beggars and blighters and ne'er do-well cads
Drink up me hearties, yo ho
Aye, but we're loved by our mommies and dads
Drink up me hearties, yo ho🎶
The baby began to giggle as he squirms in time with the music, babbling along as if trying to recite the words. The child isn't that fussed about being restrained by the blanket as they continue talking in their made-up language. The kid constantly switched his gaze between the frantic man before him and his unfamiliar surroundings, his big brown eyes wide with wonder or scrunched up when he laughs a bit too hard, entertaining himself as the useless stranger pacing in front of him is very entertaining to watch.
Jack Sparrow gazes curiously down at the babe, hand on hip whilst the other is caught in his dreadlocked hair when trying to get himself to relax. He looks at the door before leaning over the kid, them both looking at each other like they are the word's most complicated mystery. Sparrow reached out with his finger that is adorned with stolen rings and poked the baby in the nose. Wide eyes turned cross-eyed, then confused, then a full-blown laugh.
🎶Yo ho, yo ho, a pirate's life for me
We pillage, we plunder, we rifle and loot
Drink up me hearties, yo ho
We kidnap and ravage and don't give a hoot
Drink up me hearties, yo ho
Yo ho, yo ho, a pirate's life for me
We extort and pilfer, we filch and sack
Drink up me hearties, yo ho
Maraud and embezzle and even highjack
Drink up me hearties, yo ho🎶
Jack smiles slightly as he pokes the nose, then the belly, then tapped each and every toe and finger. Each boop elicited a laughing fit until the baby could barely breathe. The eighteen-year-old sighed as he picked up the kid and held him to his chest, his necklaces resting over his center whilst his child lays over his heart. Jack tries to cradle the baby as best he can whilst they both look at each other. The father smiled slightly when he pressed a kiss to the baby's forehead causing a cooing sound from the child. Jack giggled.
"What should I call you, hmmm? You should know us pirates aren't that great at naming stuff. Yeah, I once sailed with this loony who had a pet rat, is blind and yodels at everything. Do you want to know what I called him? You guessed it. I called him Tim." The kid bursts out laughing forcing Jack to join him, even though he wasn't sure that the kid understood what he was saying but he knew that his facial expressions probably gave it away. The baby blabbers in his made-up language and when he is finished Jack laughs as if his son had told him the greatest story ever. Jack looks outside the window to see the pirates still singing their song and drinking their rum, toasting to the sea and the mysteries and adventures that it holds.
🎶Yo ho, yo ho, a pirate's life for me
We kindle and char and enflame and ignite
Drink up me hearties, yo ho
We burn up the city, we're really a fright
Drink up me hearties, yo ho
We're rascals and scoundrels, we're villains and knaves
Drink up me hearties, yo ho
We're devils and black sheep, we're really bad eggs
Drink up me hearties, yo ho🎶
"Hmmmm . . . what about Jacky Ocean Rum Sparrow? Has a nice ring to it, don't you think?" Jacky scrunched up his face at his name then blabbers as if saying to change it. Jack grins before twirling making his baby squeal. "Too bad, Jacky! It's sticking."
Jack swore to the end of the world and back again that his son had rolled his eyes at him and his antics. Jack falls onto the bed, his baby cradled safely in his arms. His little pirate closes his gigantic eyes to sleep with a thumb stuck in his mouth, comfortably enough to doze off in the protective arms of his father. Jack Sparrow gazes down at him, all protective and loving feelings surrounding his child. He whispers to him whilst stroking his soft forehead. "You are my precious ruby, my most valuable gold, and my greatest treasure. No one will ever take you away from me."
