Chapter Text
Taco couldn't shake off the unrequited limerence she felt for mic — constantly longing for what they had earlier in the season. Taco tossed and turned on the wet, damp grass — she has had trouble sleeping lately.
The soft moonlight gently shimmered through the forest treetops. She had completely lost track of time — and everything around her seemed like a blur.
The only thing keeping her company were the chirps of the other animals that called the forest home. She should've been in a nice, peaceful slumber instead of thinking about the events that happened with Microphone a few weeks ago.
Everything just happened so... fast. The Alien ship, The elimination, Taco quickly shut off her thoughts.
Taco just couldn't stop thinking about Mic — the way they used to playfully tease each other, the way they used to talk together under the peaceful shadows the trees provided, The way Mic looked into her eyes.
And now she just burnt one of her most genuine bridges, Just like how she once did with Pickle. Sure, her and Mic weren't exactly perfect together but they placed their trust in each other's hands and Mic trusted that Taco wasn't the same manipulative, awful person as before.
So close to perfect it hurts to throw it away.
Taco tried to go back to sleep but a violent cough disturbed her from getting a peaceful rest — Oh great. Yet Another cold , probably from the damp grass she has been laying on. She tried not to think too much about it.
her chest began to violently hurt. She Drew in a quick breath of air. Her breathing became erratic and jagged. She could feel something in her chest. She coughed up a violent cough. she felt more uncomfortable than ever.
The following morning was idyllic. The sky was blue and the sun gracefully beamed as it pushed the clouds out of its way to take the spotlight.
Taco couldn't help but ponder what Mic was doing at this very moment — Pull yourself together. She felt more demoralized than ever. She had only teamed with Microphone — of course for the money. But was the money really that important? She felt as if she has suffered a loss greater than anyone else.
Sometimes the people that you love the most can hurt you the most.
She violently coughed again expect this time there was blood. Taco couldn't believe her eyes. The dark red blood spread onto the forest grass. slowly replacing its earthy green with a panicking red. She didn't want to look at it for too long.
Taco looked up at the windows of Hotel OJ. She saw Mic and soap happily talking. she began to cough again. She felt as if she couldn't breathe properly. The pain in her chest was still there — just not as strong as last night.
She politely grabbed the cup of tea that had been sitting on the log next to her. Taco took a sip of the tart lemon tea — hoping it would maybe help with her rather violent coughs.
The warm feeling of the tea did help. But it couldn't remove the weird aching feeling Taco had in her chest. Why could this be happening? She took a deep breath. and caught herself almost falling asleep
she was tired. of course she's tired, she only got like what? three hours of sleep! Ugh, she just wanted to get a good night's rest, especially after last episode. Everything was so... strange?... Where did those aliens come from?
It's going to be a long time until the next episode. She'd usually Spend this time with Mic. But now it just feels like an empty void. No one to talk to. She didn't want want to spend these hours with nobody else.
..............
"ughhhhh" Taco slammed the tea cup down onto the log clearly upset. she couldn't believe she just threw everything away, with Pickle and with Microphone. Maybe she could make amends? She had already sent letters to Pickle but she has never gotten a response.
She picked up a piece of dirt stained paper that looked like it had been through hell and back. She also picked up a black ballpoint pen she found on the floor.
"Dear Microphone, I am deeply sorry that I betrayed you and our alliance friendship, from, taco"
— Taco let out a sigh this clearly wasn't going to work. If she wanted to make amends she had to do it right. What if Mic absolutely hated her and never wanted to see her again? That's pretty reasonable.
She Layed onto the green grass, filled with beautiful flowers dancing with the wind. and spread her arms out. the grass as no longer damp. It was quite warm. Looks like the sun had heated it up a bit. The sunlight boldly struck Taco's face. She finally felt calm.
She had a massive headache that pounded on her head everytime she moved. and the coughs made it worse. Taco closed her eyes. She had really become more fond of nature ever since she had started her life in the forest.
She had something stuck in her throat. Her breathing became erratic again. she immediately sat up. she tried to breathe but couldn't. Taco clutched her chest and coughed another violent cough. she finally got the thing out of her throat. She looked down to see what it was.
flowers.
Delicate Flowers layed on the floor. Blood covering its Vulnerable shape. Taco was frightened by this scene. "What the hell?" Taco muttered to herself while looking at the flowers. There is no way she could've coughed that up — But she did. Her mouth tasted like a terrible metallic. she sighed.
Taco needed to tell this to someone. she didnt have anyone to tell this to. everyone has parted their ways and didn't need her anymore. Would anyone ever notice if she died? God, this was awful.
Taco had barely eaten ever since episode 14. it's like she had lost all her appetite lately the only thing she has consumed today was a cup of lemon tea and nothing else. She wanted to go. would this awful feeling go away if she were gone?
she wanted to die and be forgotten to this world
Taco's breathing was getting worse. She was slowly turning pale. she kept coughing. Blood covered petals surrounded her on the grass There was nothing pleasant about this. She was close to fainting. all she could do was lay on the floor and wish for it to end.
"Taco?" a voice called out from the distance. Taco looked over but tall grass blocked her from seeing exactly who it was. "Mic?" She called out. no response. she reached out and felt someone's hand — Microphone's hand.
Taco Jolted awake. It was a dream. She looked around, heavily breathing. It was dark. The stars were the only thing lighting up the night sky. It was beginning to get cold out. The trees began to sway gently with the wind. She felt raindrops fall on her.
She was done hiding.
Taco put her Invisibow on and activated it. She knocked on the door of Hotel OJ. Taco slyly sneaked into while OJ was distracted trying to find out who knocked.
She walked up the stairs and walked down the hall to Microphone's room. Should she be doing this? She was kind of starting to regret this but there was no time to go back.
Taco knocked on Mic's door. She nervously fiddled with her hands while she waited for Mic.
The door swung open which sent a gust of air. Taco's heart dropped. Microphone was standing at the door. She looked down at Taco.
"Wha — Taco? what are you doing here?!" Microphone sounded very distraught. Taco looked up. They stared at eachother in silence for a good minute "Come in, i don't want to disturb anyone." her face dropped and led Taco in.
Her room was full of posters and string lights thar gave off a nice purple aura. it was a tad bit messy. she clearly hadn't gotten assigned a roommate yet.
"Look, Taco why are you here? To betray me again?" She looked rather displeased. "Wh- No that's not the case."
Taco looked to the sides a few times before talking again "i want to apologize for what I did. I'm sorry Microphone" She had completely messed up on her words. Mic was clearly not expecting an apology. and from all people Taco.
"Oh — uhm, I—" Mic was at a loss for words. "You do know you made me do a lot of wrong things, Right?" She said bluntly which kind of disappointed Taco a little.
"Rightttt..." Taco said nervously. Microphone sighed.
"Look, I appreciate it Taco, But before we can work together again I need to trust you — But im not sure if I can do that after what happened."
Taco felt her heart shatter into a million pieces. She looked for her words for a second. "I.. understand." She looked into Mic's eyes for the last time. Taco suddenly needed to cough.
She could not let Mic see whatever the hell she had going on. She immediately covered her mouth and looked the opposite way. She couldn't hide her coughs no matter what. Microphone noticed. "Uh, do you need a glass of water?" She looked at her.
