   Summary

   Art isn’t sure who wins, at least not at first. It was not that he couldn’t make out the announcer’s outcries or the booming in the stands—he was all too accustomed to this sound—nor was he particularly baffled when he recognized Tashi’s familiar, yet rare, roar from the sideline. But rather, as the situation unfolded, Art barreling over the net, overextending his damn shoulder to strike the ball, he couldn’t bring himself to think of tennis at all.
