Chapter Text
007n7’s eyes drifted open, his consciousness coming back after having been sleeping for who knew how long.
He’d fallen asleep on the long bus ride to the college campus, he was going into his first year, and needed to take a bus to actually get there, seeing as it was out of state.
Houses started appearing in view, what started off as a few every mile slowly started turning into rows, and other buildings like shops started to whizz by the window as well.
This would be an entirely new experience for him, he was used to the small, boring hometown he was coming from—switching from that, along with a quiet school district to a large city and college was definitely a big leap.
He wasn’t the most sociable person, and on top of that he had a short temper with most anyone.
That was the part he hated most. Having to interact with more people.
He had tried to get a single dorm, but apparently all the stuck-up nerds had asked for those. (Like you aren’t a stuck-up nerd yourself bruh) So, he was forced into a dorm with a roommate. He could only hope they weren’t annoying, it’d spare him some of the pain of having to share a room with a stranger for the rest of the year.
He couldn’t deny that he was a bit nervous. Sure, he didn’t like interacting with people—but he didn’t want people
to dislike him. He wasn’t popular back at home, and his cousin 007e7 had told him it would be a good chance for him to make some friends, give a good first impression!
007n7 didn’t think so.
Actually, he didn’t think this whole thing was a good idea at all! He rather would’ve just gone to the community college back home. No one would’ve bothered him, he wouldn’t need to worry about a roommate, and he’d already known his way around the whole town. But 007e7 and the rest of his family insisted he go and get out of his comfort zone a little.
007n7 continued glancing out the window, watching shops and houses go by in a blur, people on the streets and everyone going on about their life normally, maybe he could get used to it? And have everything feel so normal like everyone else there did.
He decided he should probably be ready to get off of the bus soon, seeing as he was finally near civilization again. He knew the bus wouldn’t arrive at his stop for another few minutes, but he didn’t mind observing his surroundings to get used to the city.

007n7 stepped off the bus, already feeling nerves kick in as he looked at the large building ahead of him. Students were everywhere, talking to their friends, moving in, and excited to meet again after summer.
He looked down at his feet, trying to walk into the building as quickly as he could with his bags, pushing open the door and taking a breath of relief as
he was finally somewhere more quiet.
His gaze wandered over to the desk, eyeing the RA as they stared at the computer at their desk. He walked over to them, watching as they perked up and gave a small wave.
“Hey there! You checking in for a dorm?”
They asked, a smile on their face. 007n7 smiled back weakly, trying to keep the same energy and be polite, but their high-pitched voice and chipper attitude couldn’t help but tick him off a bit.
“Uh, yeah… 007n7, is the name…? It should be a shared dorm…”
He answered slowly, awaiting their response.
They began typing information into the computer, their eyes scanning the screen before they looked back at him.
“Ah! Yes, you’re room 145. It’s just up on the second floor, you’ll find it!” They said, handing him room keys, and a small sheet with rules for dorms on it. He knew he wouldn’t be listening to half of these.
“Thanks.”
He said, nodding as he took both items and shoved them into his pocket, turning on his heel and heading for the stairs.

142… 143… 144… 145!
007n7 stopped at the numbered door of his room, reaching for the door to see it was already unlocked. He hesitated for a moment, considering knocking and listening to see if he heard anything-
He didn’t, only silence. So he decided to open the door, being met with an empty room, though what he did notice when he glanced over was a shut door, presumably the bathroom, and the faint sound of a running shower. Okay, well at least his roommate was hygienic.
His eyes scanned the room, one side empty, which he guessed his roommate decided he didn’t want. And the other was fairly decorated, some posters on the wall, different blankets, and it wasn’t exactly tidy. Most of the attire was purple or black, a common theme of stars being involved.
He made his way over to his side of the room, throwing down his bags and flopping down onto his bed, letting out a heavy sigh. He’d worry about unpacking later, even if he’d only been there for around 15 minutes, the amount of people already exhausted him.
007n7 was resting his eyes when he heard the bathroom door click open, looking up from his bed when he heard someone step out. They were a dark-skinned robloxian with a porcelain mask on their face. It seemed to mimic their expressions. Their hair was a bit damp from showering, but from what 007n7 could tell, it looked to be a white color, cut in a shaggy style. They wore a purple hoodie with a star on it, and a pair of black jeans.
“Hey! Thought I heard someone come in, you must be my roommate?”
They asked, a smile spreading across their face as they threw down the towel they’d used and walked over to 007n7’s bed.
“Yeah, I am..”
007n7 replied, sitting up.
“Nice to know!” The masked man exclaimed. “I’m Noli! What about you?”
007n7 blinked a bit, How was he so.. Sociable? Was he not worried about first impressions at all?
“007n7.” He answered, waiting to see how the other would respond.
Noli raised an eyebrow, thinking over his name.
”007n7? That’s a mouthful, ain’t it?” He paused thinking for a moment. “I’ll give you a nickname, what about Seven?” He asked, that same grin plastered across his face.
“Uhh… Sure, why not.” 007n7 replied, still keeping a steady gaze on the other, studying his excited and almost loud personality. Usually someone like this would’ve ticked him off easily, but somehow it didn’t, at least not right now.
“Okay, Seven! How about we get to know eachother? What do you like, what do you do in your freetime? I’ve gotta know if my roommates a total buzzkill or not.” He said, backing up now and sitting down on his own bed.
“I’m not a buzzkill!” 007n7 exclaimed, Noli threw his hands up in mock-surrender, widening his eyes for dramatic effect. “Woah, woah! I wasn’t saying that, calm down buster!” He said, leaning back now. “I just wanna get to know you, why not start off simple; what’re you here for? Like what’s your major, and why are ya taking it?”
007n7 stared at him, letting himself relax a bit, thinking for a moment. “Well, i’m majoring in programming, i’m taking it for coding… Things…” He said, cautious not to give too much away yet. “I originally wasn’t gonna go here, and instead to my community college back home, but my family wanted me to go out and meet more people, get better at being social.”
Noli took all this information in, nodding slowly. “Me too! Well, not on the being more social part. But i’m taking programming too!” He said, now leaning on his side. “And, you’re in luck. Cuz i’m just the guy you need for being more social! I’ve got lots of friends, I’ll get you out of your shell one way or another!”

007n7 and Noli had spent the rest of the afternoon talking, Noli even offered to help 007n7 unpack. Most of the time Noli was talking more, with 007n7 replying every once in a while, but he noticed he didn’t seem to mind listening, in fact he enjoyed hearing his stories and opinions. From his perspective, they seemed to be pretty alike—they shared some interests, and had most the same classes.
Unusually for 007n7, he found it easy to hold conversation with him, he made going out and doing things with other people sound less boring. Possibly fun?
Maybe 007n7’s problem was that he just hadn’t found his people, and maybe was what he needed to find them?
He figured this whole thing may not be so bad after all.
