PokéScouts (Camping)

Summary:

This is a set of instructions for playing PokéScouts (Camping), the game where you and your troop go camping and do traditional PokéScout camping activities. Grab your troopmates (and a d4, d6, and d20), and don't forget to have fun!

Compared to other PokéScouts games, Camping is short length and very easy difficulty.

I’ve added a video game version of the ttrpg, the download link is available from chapter two.

Rules:

The troop can do 15 rounds of activities before bedtime. The activities are gathering firewood, tending the fire, singing campfire songs, telling campfire stories, and making s’mores. The troop members don’t all have to do the same activity. For example, one troop member may want to gather extra firewood while some troop members tell campfire stories.

Activities will give Good Cheer points, which will help the troop members rest well tonight, and sometimes pokémon are drawn to troop members who are doing certain activities. Catching pokémon is a good way to get Good Cheer points. A troop member can catch a pokémon which has approached by rolling a 15 or higher on a d20. Optionally, roll a 100 on a percentage roll to find out if the pokémon is a shiny.

Gathering Firewood:

A round of gathering firewood earns a troop member +1 Good Cheer point, and 1d6 firewood. If a troop member has a firewood-gathering pokémon, or catches one during this round, roll an extra 1d6 to find out how much firewood the pokémon helps carry back to camp.

For each troop member, roll a d4 to see if a firewood-gathering pokémon approaches (pokémon approach on even numbers), and roll again to see which pokémon it is.

Firewood-Gathering Pokémon:

  1. Bulbasaur
  2. Timburr
  3. Chespin
  4. Deerling

Tending the Fire (the troop needs at least 10 firewood):

A round of tending the fire earns a troop member +1 Good Cheer point, and 1d6 campfire points for the whole troop. If a troop member has a fire-tending pokémon, or catches one during this round, roll an extra 1d6 campfire points for the pokémon.

For each troop member, roll a d4 to see if a firewood-gathering pokémon approaches (pokémon approach on even numbers), and roll again to see which pokémon it is.

Fire-Tending Pokémon:

  1. Charmander
  2. Vulpix
  3. Fennekin
  4. Skorupi

Singing Campfire Songs (the troop needs at least 10 campfire points):

A round of singing campfire songs earns a troop member +1d6 Good Cheer points, and +1d6 bonus Good Cheer points for each singing pokémon the troop member has or catches this round.

For each troop member, roll a d4 to see if a singing pokémon approaches (pokémon approach on even numbers), and roll again to see which pokémon it is.

Singing Pokémon:

  1. Chatot
  2. Jigglypuff
  3. Chimecho
  4. Kricketot

Telling Campfire stories (the troop needs at least 10 campfire points):

A round of telling campfire stories earns a troop member +1d6 Good Cheer points, and +1d6 bonus Good Cheer points for each listener pokémon the troop member has or catches this round.

For each troop member, roll a d4 to see if a listener pokémon approaches (pokémon approach on even numbers), and roll again to see which pokémon it is.

Listener Pokémon:

  1. Phantump
  2. Whismur
  3. Murkrow
  4. Scraggy

Making S’mores (the troop needs at least 10 campfire points):

A round of making s’mores earns a troop member +1d6 Good Cheer points, and +1d6 bonus Good Cheer points for each chef pokémon the troop member has or catches this round.

For each troop member, roll a d4 to see if a chef pokémon approaches (pokémon approach on even numbers), and roll again to see which pokémon it is.

Chef Pokémon:

  1. Alcremie
  2. Swirlix
  3. Munchlax
  4. Appletun

Going to sleep:

Each player with at least 100 good cheer points will rest well and have good dreams. Each caught Pokémon, including ones caught at bedtime, gives the player +5 good cheer points. If a troop member is well rested, a dreaming pokémon may appear!

For each well rested troop member, roll a d4 to see if a dreaming pokémon has spent the night at your camp (pokémon approach on even numbers), and roll again to see which pokémon it is.

Dreaming Pokémon:

  1. Drowzee
  2. Swablu
  3. Munna
  4. Morelull
