Chapter Text
It was a cold winter morning on a mountain ski resort in Belobog. A car pulls into view next to a fair sized wooden lodge. Out steps a pink haired girl, stretching her arms and back.
“Ngh! Ah~” Then the cold breeze makes her shiver. “Brr, it's so cold!” She holds herself tight.
“March, I told you to put on your scarf and mittens before getting out.” A blue haired boy, too, steps out of the car. Behind him two more figures set out.
“But we've been in the car for hours, Sunday! My legs and bottom were starting to get sore!” The girl says as she's handed her warm gear. “Anyways– Robin, let's go sightseeing! The others should already be here.” March grabs the other girl by the hands only to be stopped in her tracks.
“Ah ah ah~” An older woman calls to them. “You kiddos still need to unpack, so go help Welt and I with the luggage and then you can go on your merry way. Alright?”
“Yes, Himeko.” Robin giggles as the younger girl pouts. Dan Heng, who was already helping Welt, shakes his head.
Today marks the first day of their trip now that the children have entered winter break. With their college work put on hold, they can now relax their tired little brains and enjoy their well deserved vacation. (In courtesy of the adults) In fact they are not the only ones here at this snow covered mountain resort. Their cousins and uncles as well as their classmates/friends are here, but the kids will have to finish unpacking before joining up with the others.
Opening the lodge door, March gasps, taking her first look inside. “Oh, look how pretty this place looks! Ah~ There's a Christmas tree in here! Robin, Sunday, Heng, hurry and look at this place!” Robin, with her luggage in hand, shuffles inside her siblings trailing behind her.
“Oh, it's so cute in here~” She takes in the way the lounge room is decorated with Christmas decorations.
“It's cozy looking. And there's a kitchenette in here as well.” Sunday trails around the place in awe. Dan Heng strolls by to the hallway with multiple doors on each side. He opens one revealing two beds.
“Hmm, two beds this time. Nice.”
“Thank Aeons! I don't wanna bunk again. I can roll as much as I want now.” Sunday walks into the room. Dan Heng hums, he could care less if he needs to bunk beds or not, so long as his bunk mate doesn't hog the blanket that is. With a shrug he sets his stuff down next to the bed.
Welt comes into the front door holding a giant red bag. The presents. He gently sets them down on the floor next to the beautifully decorated tree. And one by one he places them around the tree. Once done he cleans the imaginary dust off himself. With hands on his hips he smiles to himself, it's gonna be a good trip, I can feel it. Suddenly footsteps stomp their way to the center of the lounge area. March looks around the room, calculating. Welt was about to call her when the girl gasped and grabbed a chair. “March–”
“Wait.”
March drags the chair to the arched framed hallway. There, she climbed up and taped something green onto the arch. A mistletoe. Welt huffs a laugh as he watches the girl get down and take a step back to admire her work. “Heh heh, I'm definitely gonna get Stelle first this time~. There's absolutely no way she's gonna beat me in the smooching game this Christmas. Huff, I won't allow it!” Welt decided to leave the girl to her own and instead busied himself with other matters.
“Can we go now!” March calls to Himeko.
“Yes!” A muffled voice replies back. March doesn't hesitate to drag the others out the door. Once gone, Himeko comes out dusting her hands. She catches Welt making a cup of coffee. “Sigh, who would've known the trip here would take so long.” The redheaded woman stretches her back and happily takes a mug of coffee from Welt. Taking a sip, “Let's set up dinner for when they come back.”
Welt watches as the woman scoops more ground coffee beans into her cup. How does this woman own a renowned coffee shop but make the most vile coffee known to man!? Welt clears his throat. “Ah, yes.”

Now traveling away from the lodge and up the trail leading to the giant mountain, four individuals challenge themselves to walk in the snow while carrying their skis and snow boards.
“Ugh, how did we forget to rent out snowmobiles!” March takes another big step in the snow. She had her camera hanging around her neck. “Sigh, I just wanna see our friends already!”
Dan Heng strides past her moving with no problem. “As if. You just wanna see Stelle again and do inappropriate stuff.” The boy dryly teased. That response made March dramatically gasp.
“Oh I know you didn't say that! I know you– Ooo, if anyone here is doing shady things, it's you and Caelus! In fact you turn braindead the moment your eyes land even on a spec of his hair. Like all logic has completely left your soul.” March pouts at Dan Heng. Robin goes to calm the other girl down. Sunday on the other hand just rolls his eyes. Drama queens, I swear. The bluenette continues forward. Suddenly a buzzing sound is heard, Sunday and the rest look up. Up ahead were two snowmobiles coming straight for them.
Robin squints her eyes, “Ah! It's Caelus, Stelle, and Gallagher!” Dan Heng felt his ears perk up at the name being called out.
One of the vehicles makes a slow stop while the other takes a hard turn, drifting and sending snow flying covering the four.
“Sup, losers!” Caelus was the first to greet them. Behind him sat Stelle, she jumps down and makes her way towards March.
March and the others clear the snow off their heads. Stelle ruffles the pink hair in front of her. “Heh, sorry ‘bout that.” She reaches for her beanie and places it on the other girl.
A loud yawn interrupts the air. Sunday shakes the small flakes of snow off his head. “Sigh, couldn't you guys give a proper greeting?”
“Sorry, Birdie, I kinda told ‘em to do it.” Gallagher leans his large built body on the handles. “Forgive me, yeah?”
“Hmm? Forgive you?” Sunday strides towards the larger male and sits behind him. “Okay, I'll forgive you, if… you take me to the peak.” Gallagher gives him a smile.
“Then hold on tight.” Sunday does. “... Uhh… I mean my waist, Doll.”
“O-Oh…” Sunday lets go of the large pectorals and slides his hands to the man's waist. “Right… sorry.” He wasn't sorry at all. Gallagher shakes his head and starts up his ride.
“Alright! Let's head up!” Sunday waves off his friends and he and Gallagher ride off together. Caelus sees this and turns towards Dan Heng. He pats the seat behind him, “Dan Heng~ Hurry, I wanna go– oh!” Dan Heng is quick to hug Caelus' waist. He even put his face in the crook of the other's neck. Caelus smiles at the action. March bites her lips so she wouldn't talk but, Point proven, you hypocritical lover boy! With the two now on board, Caelus leans forward. “Heh heh. See you guys later!” And they, too, speed off.
Stelle pulls a face as her sibling leaves her behind. March and Robin sigh as they pull their boards closer. Sigh… this is gonna be a long walk…
🎄🦌🎄
“Let's go!”
“Hold on, Little Firefly.”
Sam was waiting near the steps from the lodge she was sharing with her companions. Walking down the steps was not Gallagher, nor Caelus and Stelle, but her good trickster of a friend, Sparkle. They were both wrapped from head to toe with warm clothing. Sam picks up a lasso attached to a sled carrying all their gears and starts walking ahead. Sparkle trails behind her putting things in her backpack.
“What did you bring?” Sam questions.
Sparkle smiles, "I'm glad you asked, my adorable little friend~” Sam couldn't help but glance at her with an unamused look. “I’m bringing Go Pros for my dummi– I mean Caelus and Stelle.” Sam ignores the insults she throws at her siblings. “I'm gonna use their pov for my blog on ‘How to Spot a Dummy’.”
“How so?”
Sparkle gives an ominous laugh, “That'll be a secret. Now, let's head to the meeting spot.”
🎄🦌🎄
“Huff… We're finally…. here.. Ngh, C'mon Sparkle.. just a little… closer.” Sam tugs the sled. In the near distance was a snow covered mountain, people can be seen going up and down the slope. The girl doesn't get an immediate response which is rare from her companion, so she turns only to spit no one around. “S-Sparkle…? Sparkle?!” Not even footsteps from the girl were left behind. Where'd she go? Sam spots a familiar item on the sled. It was Sparkle’s backpack. And it had a sticky note placed on top.
It read:
Considering you're gonna be around your cutesy little friends, I doubt you wanna have me around and cause more chaos when the other two are already around. But be a dear and hand these to my adorable little test dummies! Don't worry, I'll still be around. If anything, lets meet up again later tonight and play~
–Sparkle (◕ᴗ◕✿)
Sam sighs and crumbles the note into her pocket. But just as the girl was gonna continue walking a noise was heard behind her. “Huh?! Spar–”
“Sam! Hah, boy am I glad to see you!” That wasn't Sparkle but…
“March! And Robin and Stelle, too! Heh, good to see that you guys made it.” Sam welcomes the three. “Seeing that Stelle is here, I'm guessing the boys took the snowmobiles and felt you guys.” Stelle pouts at the words.
“Mm. Sam, let's walk together.” Robin takes the rope from Sam's grasp.
🎄🦌🎄
Reaching their destination, the girls spot Sunday and the others nearby. Walking towards them, Stelle throws her glove at Caelus’ face. “Hmph, you asshats! Whatever happened to ‘ladies first’!”
“Ah! Dan Heng, she's hitting me!” Dan Heng hides Caelus behind him. March pulls a face. Tch. So much for saying I'm the clingy one.
“Yo yo yo!” Another female voice pitches in. It wasn't any of the girls present but… Everyone looks towards the slope. And there they see another girl in pink, snowboarding down to them. Behind her were three more figures. “Check it!” The said girl flips a total of two rotations and lands right in front of them. “Yeah! Peak that, Old Man!!”
A man follows suit behind her coping her moves but does a total of three spins. And with a grunt he landed right next to her. “Just did, kid.” The girl curses under her breath.
March was quick to notice the folks now in front of them. “Rappa! Uncle Boothill!” Following in tow were two redheads. It was Argenti and Luka. They swiftly pull up and are greeted by the group. Rappa lifts her goggles and moves her pink hair out of the way. “Yo guys! Y'all are finally here! Was wonderin’ when you'd make it. Guess we don't gotta wait anymore.” Rappa flicks her head to the ski lift. “Let's head up, there's some trick I wanna show ya!”
March twitches in her place and grabs Stelle by the wrist. “Lead the way!”
