Chapter Text

You’re in the phone with a friend of yours. About some trip you just finished. You have stayed instead mostly after it. “Haven’t you gotten sick of it yet?” They ask. You haven’t really. The beach was nice and all. But you’d prefer to stay inside.
They’re talking about their kid, they have to go to school, but their don’t really want to. I mean what else can you do right, the world’s going to keep spinning.

Theres a knock at the door. Right after you finished that phone call that felt it stretched way longer than necessary.
You look out the peep hole.
It’s just your neighbour, Y.

She seems.. scared. Concerned almost. Yet still keeps her composure pretty well.
“Hey neighbour! Long time no see, how’s life?”

Fine. I mean that’s all there is really to say.

“Cutting to the case, I came here for a reason. I’ve been worried about you. Something BADS heading our way. I just got off the phone with my friend and they told me about how something funky is going on with the sun.. there’s also people coming up from underground. They’re calling them “visitors”. Creepy stuff, huh ? Hopefully it’s not true.”

You’re curious. Why are they calling them visitors? You ask, sort of rhetorical yet almost like you’re wondering for an actual answer.

“Mhm! That’s what they’re calling the people from down there. Algebra knows why they’re calling them THAT. Maybe it’s because they’re going round trying to get into people’s houses..”

Y pauses. Thinking about something before continuing.

“It’s dangerous to be home alone — I came up here to make sure you’re safe.”

You hum in agreement, seems logical enough. You do wonder what happened to their friend they’d mentioned. So naturally, you ask.

“They’re currently staying over with someone else.”

“Hay, let’s continue this conversation the morning, eh? I’ll be in the kitchen when you wake up.”

You leave the peep hole.

Seems no one else is coming tonight. That’s great, at least it should be.
You decide to take a ponder outside the windows. By the desk just to the left of the front door. You lift the certains. It’s just a few drunk people pass out on the ground. They’re out cold. Seemed to be fast asleep. Good for them I gu

You creep down the hall to the second set of windows, on the path near the kitchen and living room. You lift the certains. It’s just a dog, seemingly underweight running though the fields. It looks around mournfully , hunting for food that isn’t there.

You venture closer towards your bedroom. Reaching the last window. It’s your neighbours house. Stood there alone in a hay field.
