Work Text:
“Dude, are you okay?” Ethan groaned as his cousin nudged his side, turning his face to blink blearily at her. “Oh crap. You’re so not doing fine. You look like the bad side of Cabin 7,” Selena muttered. “I’ll get the teacher to call home and see if anyone can pick you up, m’kay?”
The ravenette huffed in response before burying his head back into his arms, having never even taken out his work, and tried not to catalogue every aching bone in his body, the Athena side of him working overtime at the worst moment possible.
Some time passed- he couldn’t bother telling how much- with more murmuring around him.
Then, a familiar hand passed underneath his desk into his field of vision, and voice muttered into his ear. “Hey kiddo. C’mon, your Uncle Jason is waiting at the front,”
He lifted his head up, pushing his glasses back up his nose, and just about made out the blurry shape of Piper, already holding his school bag.

“Heard you needed a ride back home,”
Ethan groaned, again, as he got into the car, immediately curling up against Piper. A hand plucked away his glasses, tucking them into the pocket of his blazer, before it settled into his hair.
“We might have to drop him off at Leo’s. He’s got a pretty bad fever and he’s shivering,”
“As opposed to keeping him at home at the fireplace? We’ve still got some of Hazel’s soup, we can reheat it for him,”
“Leo’ll warm him up faster though. And Hazel’s got a short shift today- library’s doing some renovations. Fresh soup has got to be better than old soup,”
“Point,”
Silence, before a hand tapped his forehead, and Ethan opened his eyes. “Scale of “It’ll pass” to “Doctor Will Solace”, how are we doing?”
“Mhhhh. 7. ‘M cold,”
“We gotta drop him off at Leo’s then,”
