Gotham Academy’s Marching Vampire Bats weekly announcements:

Students new to the marching program are expected to be in the band room this Monday evening at rehearsal hours, for a short band camp. There will be no rehearsal otherwise this Monday

Students new to or transferring to Colourguard must fill out this form and hand it in in-person by Tuesday’s morning rehearsal. This form details rental policies for Colourguard rifles, flags, and sabres, as well as the safety and well-being of students

Interested in drumline? Seniors of 2nd year or higher can apply for drumline auditions this week! Auditions will take place throughout the 2nd and 3rd week of September. Talk to the drumline staff if interested
Another year, another season! The staff of the Marching Vampire Bats greet both old and newcomers to another year of excellent shows.
The Marching Vampire Bats rehearse every Monday to Thursday evening, from 5pm to 7:30pm, as well as extra Guard and Drumline rehearsals every Monday to Thursday morning, from 6am to 8am. All students are expected to give their full participation to each and every rehearsal- failure to do so for an extended period of time may result in expulsion from the marching and music programs.
Every week, students and parents alike will be receiving weekly announcements from the Social Media staff detailing the going-ons of the program. You are expected to read the emails as they will also be containing rehearsal schedules and uniform and instrument expectations. At the bottom, you will also find the forms for planned absences and unplanned absences.
Please note, members are allowed upwards of 6 planned absenses and 5 unplanned absences a year, barring extraneous circumstances such as extended sicknesses.

THIS WEEKS EVENING REHERSAL SCHEDULE:
Monday: Rehearsal for incoming members only. Indoors for the first half, outside for the second half*. Senior members do not need to come**. Students will meet in the band room.
Tuesday: Regular rehearsal outside*. Wind members will be bringing winter season instruments. Drumline early dismissal at 6pm.
Wednesday: Pep band-focused rehearsal indoors. All members bring marching instruments and gear.
Thursday: Pep band-focused rehearsal indoors. All members bring marching instruments and gear.
THIS WEEKS MORNING GUARD AND DRUMLINE REHEARSAL SCHEDULE:
Monday: No rehearsal for both drumline and guard.
Tuesday: Winter show-focused rehearsal indoors for guard only. Bring winter show gear.
Wednesday: Drumline only rehearsal indoors. Students applying for transfer are invited to join.
Thursday: Drumline and guard rehearsal outdoors*. No gear required. Early dismissal for all at 7:30am.
*Students are expected to dress appropriately for the outdoor elements. With limited exceptions (including weather and sudden illness), students will not be allowed back inside until the duration of rehearsal is over.
**Students who were drum major, assistant drum major, and sectional captains last year are required to be in the band room 30 minutes beforehand for set-up. They will be dismissed at 5:45pm
