Summary
For Channing, Pelican Town was the farm and the summers she spent there, a place that felt stable in a way nothing else did. Haley was always part of that. Every year ended with a goodbye that never seemed permanent, because Channing always returned. Haley learned to expect it. To trust it.
Then one summer, Channing didn’t come back. The seasons passed without her, and Haley stayed. She watched the road until she understood it would remain empty. Waiting became something she had to unlearn. Letting go meant accepting that Channing had chosen a life that no longer included her.
Ten years later, Channing is forced home by her grandfather’s death. Channing returns to the weathered fences and whispering fields of the farm, only to find that the past isn’t as buried as she thought. Haley is still there—changed, guarded, and carrying the weight of what was left behind.
Can two people who have become strangers find their way back to the love they planted years ago, or has the harvest passed them by?
