Chapter Text
Christmas - Underneath Game Central Station
- 1994 - 7 years since Roadblasters.
Turbo was sitting against the cold hard plastic walls of the power strip and was tapping his foot nervously against the copper flooring, looking to his left, then to his right, as if waiting for someone to catch him in some act…He glanced down at the the three stolen items next to him before quickly looking away.
Turbo looked left, than right, left again, and let out a sigh..Why was he so worried now?! Nobody had seen him in 7 whole years! Maybe it was just out of habit from before his..situation. Or hearing faint footsteps and chatter above made him nervous..
‘Nobody is coming…you’re fine..’
Turbo thought to himself, even though in the back of his mind, cringing to himself for being vulnerable.
Turbo now ,ever since Roadblasters ruined his ‘turbotastic’ life, had a lot of time now to think more to himself…to explore more about himself beyond his programming of being the greatest racer ever.
He looked down at the three stolen items again.. A makeup palette..a makeup brush..and a handheld mirror. He had stolen those items from one of the nicelanders from Felix’s game. When he had been rummaging through the items the nicelander he was stealing from had, he could never remember the name of who though. Turbo semi-knew what to grab, mostly going off his knowledge from staying up late after the TurboTwins, Jet and Set, had gone to sleep to read his stolen stash of beauty magazines that he had pocketed from Tappers whenever he had visited alone.
Turbo was Hesitant for a second before deeply inhaling then exhaling. He picked up the mirror and set it between his knees securely before picking up the palette and flipped its cover open. There was a wide range of different colours, from vibrant pinks and purples and reds to more darker bold colours like grey and blacks. And thankfully to Turbo’s brief knowledge on makeup, he could tell which products were for where and which would straight up make him look like a clown.
Turbo was about to pick up the brush to get started before he caught a glance at himself in the mirror..Piercing yellow glowing eyes…yellow teeth…grey skin and even darker gray eyebags..his skeleton like appearance. Sure, he wasn’t the typical guy to…mildly…yeah mildly..enjoy this type of stuff. For mods sake, He had even taken one of Gene’s cigarette packs before he left the building!
But that didn’t matter now..he was away from the crowds on GCS..away from prying eyes…Turbo had committed to this…project of his and gotten this far now, Turbo wasn’t a quitter, and wasn’t about to start to! He looked down at the makeup brush again.
“Now or Never.”
About 30 mintues later..
Turbo was finally satisfied on how his first time apply makeup to himself had gone. He had decided on going with more basic products to start, eyeshadow and lipgloss since those where the two that he could do without needing more than a brush and his finger.
He picked up the mirror that was sitting between his knees securely and began looking at his work…
“Huh…”
He admired himself for a couple seconds, turning his head to look at different angles…
Then…
A little giggle arrupted from him..but not his recognizable laughter that the twins would hear whenever one of them crashed into a side barrier..or whenever he told a bad joke around Felix at Tappers…this giggle was different..out of joy maybe?
Turbo examined himself, the semi sparkley black eyeshadow on his eyelids actually worked well…and the black lipgloss tied it together. He moved his hand and the mirror out a bit more so he could view himself differently now.
“Turbotastic..~” He giggled while admiring himself as he slightly kicked his feet in excitement.
He brought the mirror back closer to himself and put his other hand on his cheek, and he softly smiled.
Best Christmas ever.
