The New Years had rolled by as everyone was out there greeting one another, eating at restaurants, do their first shopping in the big 26, and so much more. They really wanna go all out for it as they did last year, and they're for sure gonna do it big.
Kirby strolled around as he greeted people passing by him. Before his psyche got altered, he barely had any idea what it means to celebrate it. But after hanging out with the former Monsta X members, it seems he finally got the main message for it.
He stops by a shrine that had a really long line. He assumes that everyone wants to have good fortune in their lives and careers as this is why they line up for this. He thought about it, but he could always go for another day.
By his count, he has already greeted his friends, but he still has to make contact with Jackie and Soren who are already celebrating it on their own, but since he has time, he can go do that right now.
He went back to Final Destination to go contact them. He understands if they're busy with family or work, but he hopes he can reach them for this. But he doesn't have wait for long as both guys immediately picked up.
"Yooo, Kirbs!" Jackie hollered.
"Happy New Year, my guys!" Soren greeted.
"Happy New Year to you as well, gentlemen. I hope that I am not cutting away your time."
"Oh, not at all. I've been meaning to message you about this."
"Yeah me too. I'm actually on break right now so I have time to talk."
"That is most fortunate. As it would be tradition, I had pondered the thought of inviting you both back here once more for the festivities, but I understand if you have errands to attend to."
"Oh, it's all cool man. We can definitely come back for the next one." Soren assures the pink puff.
"Yeah, and while it does suck, we do hope that you guys will have a good year too." Jackie said. "Oh yeah, and be sure to tell everyone that we give our regards."
"Thank you. I will do that. Remember, I am here for you all as you are here for us. Should you need to return here, simply say the word and they will invite you in again."
"Thank you so much for everything you've done for us too. It's thanks to all of you that I'm learning new things every day, and that I get to do this with you." Jackie added.
"Same here. You guys are really making my day already better." Soren grinned.
"Indeed. I do feel the same." Kirby smiled. "I am… blessed that I have been given speech to communicate my thoughts and feelings with you."
"Me too, and I hope you keep yours for a very long time."
"Yeah, same here. No matter what's gonna happen, I hope that all of you are happy, healthy, and we'll be the best of friends for life." Jackie smiles.
"Yes, indeed." Kirby agrees.
"And that's a rock fact." Soren acknowledged.
Jackie looks at something. "Oop, looks like break's over! I gotta get back to work now. See y'all whenever! Bye!"
"See ya!"
"Farewell."
Jackie goes offline.
"Well, I gotta get going too. It's great talking to you again."
"Yes, it is."
"Tell everyone we said hi, alright? See ya."
"Farewell."
Soren goes offline too, ending the call.
"Hmm…"
Kirby remembers greeting everyone as he walked by before, but he already did that. So after talking to them, does that mean he'll have to greet them again, or… or…
!!!
That's right. He remembers now.
He calls in the Warp Star to go to the place where they once been before as he zooms out of the sky.
Kirby fast passed to a familiar field as he made a smooth landing. He has gotten better at landing them as he is flying them since there hasn't been an accident since he first gained human speech.
He gets off the Warp Star to look at the very thing that's in front of him: the twin cherry blossom trees. There was a good reason Jackie mentioned everyone, which also meant the two lovebirds that are now residing up in the grassy and flowery fields in the afterlife.
He steps forward to the trees, seeing how the others were already there before him so he's the last person to visit, until these two get here of course. Then, he bows to it and begins to speak his words.
"Salutations, Renka, Lynn. I sincerely hope that you are faring well. As for us, we too are faring well. Though the one regret that we have for you, Lynn, is that we did not give you the occasion to experience things such as Christmas and New Years as they say."
He looks at the cherry blossoms that are either on the branches or flowing freely in the wind. He looks towards the left branch.
"Lynn… As I recall… I recall seeing these for the first time in another world, the world where you originate in. You had recalled the words that Renka had said to you on that day, how these blossoms represent the cycle of life and death. Life may be fleeting, but it can be beautiful if we give it meaning and purpose. I am fully aware that not all have the luxury of experiencing such a life. But if they do, then they will do all they can to give it meaning. Just like you have when you first joined our adventure together."
Then he look towards the right branch.
"Renka… You recall the time when you once asked me about Soren and Jackie, correct? Now, you have finally found your answer. I am glad that you have found your chance to meet them, to see how brave, compassionate, and kindhearted they are. I know that they too were happy to meet you as well, as if… it was fated to occur on that day."
He turns his attention back to the tree in whole.
"We miss you. This world misses you both. While we were deeply saddened by your deaths, but most strongly, we were happy that you had not only overcome your painful past, but also defeat your inner demons, and lived the life that you were meant to live, even if your time here was shortened. And do not worry, we will continue to live our lives with the greatest capacity, just as you had wished for us."
And just like the others, he too places something down next to the branches; a list of poems that help him set this up. He gets back on the Warp Star as he gazed at the tree one more time.
"Happy New Year, Renka, Lynn. We wish you a peaceful rest. And please, watch over us, just like you always have done."
Then he zooms off again, with the star twinkling at the sky. He hopes that his messages will get to them as theirs did to him and the others. Unbeknownst to him, his prayers may have very well been answered as the two girls continue to gaze into the world, their voices echo quietly in the wind.
"Happy New Year, everyone. Even if we're no longer here, we will still continue to watch over you. And no matter what happens in your life, I hope that you will all live them happily and peacefully. And that you will always have the bonds that connect you together… Isn't that right, Lynn?"
Renka turns to Lynn, who smiles brightly.
"…Always."
