“This place is so fancy.” Vickie commented, looking around at the people and the scenery.
“One of the reasons that I chose it.” Robin replied as she took a slow sip of water to simply admire Vickie as she looked around.
“Do I have something on my face?” Vickie wiped her mouth a few times before looking back at Robin who shook her head.
”No, I like looking at you.” Robin said straightforwardly as she put her glass down. What made her pause momentarily was when Vickie picked up her fork and started eating her food at a fast pace. ”Are you… okay?” Robin chuckled after she spoke.
”Yeah, I get the munchies when I’m nervous.” She laughed, almost in embarrassment.
”Am I making you nervous?” Robin curiously asked, her smile only growing.
”Not in a bad way! I um— just y’know… you have that effect I guess.” Vickie nervously replied, fiddling with her fork.
”I’m going to take that as a compliment.”
”Sorry, I’m not great at this.” She sighed, her hand moving a bit and causing her fork to make a loud scrape sound against the bowl in front of her.
A few people looked at her, causing her to focus on Robin instead of them.
”Don’t worry about it. It’s cute.” Robin laughed, moving her hand to gently hold Vickie’s who’s in turn let go of the fork to reciprocate. “I’m glad I was finally able to take you out to eat. With everything going on it’s been hard to make it work.”
”Yeah… it’s nice.” Vickie agreed with a small smile, that same smile slowly going away within seconds. “Are we even able to afford this?”
”Like I said before, don’t worry about a thing. I invited you just like last time and my statement still stands. You’re not going to pay a single dime.”
Vickie smiled shyly at Robin, shaking her head with a small laugh.
”You’re something special.”
”And that’s why you picked me.” Robin grinned. “I’m the luckiest girl in the world.”
”As am I.” Vickie agreed with a light blush on her face.
