   Summary

   Up on the wall, in its frame, where Mike refuses to even touch it in fear it’ll break, as though his touch was enough to break the last piece of Will that he had left. God, how long had it been since Mike had touched Will? A shoulder grab, a bump of the elbow? A brush of the knee? Mike didn’t know. It felt too long. So long that it hurt.
   The painting was one of his only pulls to reality- one that kept him from slipping where he refused to go. But Jesus, did it feel like a promise. A promise that Mike had broken so, so long ago- and one that weighed upon him endlessly.
