Now, Wind, Link, or whatever name you might call him was never suited for the cold. Who could blame him, really? The Great Sea was as warm as could be (precisely why they had all hated that horrible green tunic so much— it was too warm! Oh, the amount of times he felt like he was burning alive!), and snow, save for one island, wasn't really present.
Usually, this wouldn't be an issue, but since they'd taken on time-traveling, cold climates had become… much more of an issue.
Case in point? Now. The group had ended up on Skyloft, and it felt so, so cold!
Shivering, Leaf took a deep breath.
It was probably nothing, right? It was just a little cold. It wasn't a big deal.
Twilight, who was right next to it, noticed what Leaf was doing, and frowned. "You alright?"
Leaf just smiled. "Yeah, I'm ok…"
Sky smiled, taking the lead. "I'll get you guys some warm clothes in a bit, but until then, maybe you can take some of Wild's elixirs?"
Wild nodded, already digging through his bag. "That works."
Leaf felt like xe couldn't wait for Wild, though. It was just too cold. Maybe that was the issue. Maybe that was why he felt so, so tired by the minutes, why it was shivering so much, why everything.
From all around it, Leaf could hear chattering. It was so, so hard to make out the words though. Maybe it'd be best to stop trying to…
Curiously, xe looked down at xer fingers, and attempted to wiggle them. His fingers wouldn't move.
It just stared. Why wouldn't they move? Was something the matter? Should… it tell someone? Telling someone might be a good idea…
While Leaf was lost in thought, xer breaths slowly becoming more shallow, a bottle with some red-orange liquid was offered to them.
"What is that?" Leaf asked, its speech slightly slurred.
The person offering the bottle's eyes widened in concern. "Ok, um… wait, show me your arm?"
It took a moment for Leaf to process that, but it eventually nodded, raising his arm slowly for the person (Wild. His name was Wild) to inspect.
To xer surprise, Wild rolled up its sleeve, causing Leaf to blink a little.
"What…?"
"I need to check something." Was all he replied with, inspecting Leaf's bright red arm.
"Guys!" Wild called after a few seconds. "Wind has hypothermia!"
Any and all conversation seemed to die out, and everyone else looked at Wild and Leaf with concern.
Hypothermia, though? That… couldn't be right, right? Sure, xe felt cold, exhausted, and just weird, but surely it was fine, right? It wasn't that cold. he couldn't be.
(At the back of its mind, Leaf was vividly aware that he didn't know the exact symptoms of hypothermia. It was nothing, though.)
A soft thing was draped around its shoulders. Leaf couldn't tell what it was, but it felt nice, so it was… probably fine.
"Sky," someone's voice said urgently, "we need to get somewhere warmer now."
Sky (the white-caped person, right?) nodded, his expression as serious as the other person's tone.
Someone gently picked Leaf up, and off they went.
Despite the thing that had been placed on xer shoulders, the wind still made it shiver. So cold… and it was the Hero of Winds? What a funny title.
"I know a place not too far from here," he could hear someone— Sky— saying. "We just need to keep him awake until we arrive."
There were sounds of agreement.
With every moment, Leaf just felt drowsier. Moving was hard at this point, so xe couldn't get into a comfier position, but he could make do. It's always done that, after all.
"Just hang in there a little longer," someone told it while its eyes slowly fluttering shut. Why should he stay awake though? He was so sleepy. Surely a little nap wouldn't hurt…
There was the sound of a door opening. Then there was more chatter, everyone sounding urgent. Leaf didn't stick around to hear what was said though.
Instead, xe fell asleep, confused when everyone sounded even more worried by that.
It was fine though. It was just a nap after all, wasn't it?
