   Summary

   Penelope is proud of who she is, despite what Colin feels. She had given up her hope and dream in favor of building a life with him until he caught her and excused her of planning to entrap him the entire time. She calls off the wedding and reveals her secret to her mother, who surprisingly takes it well. Upon hearing of her daughters possible pregnancy, she decides to protect her daughter, including keeping Colin Bridgerton away from her if she has to.
