Screenplay/Libretto Worksin

Summary:

Live example + code for script writing on AO3. First chapter demonstrates the code in action, Chapter 2 shows how the text must be coded and Chapter 3 has the workskin code itself.

Notes:

This is just a silly little code that I wanted to try, and there's a lot of room for improvement. I may comeback later to improve the code, since it's very sloppy as of now, but I need to study libretto formatting better, so it'll be a work for another day ;D

Chapter 1

INT. AUTHOR'S HOUSE - STUDY - AFTERNOON

It's been a hot day. And AUTHOR's been rather bored. The camera pans around the room. It's unruly, and pages are spread all over the desk.

The light invades the dark room as Author types in his laptop, heavy eyes scanning the bright screen in front of them.

AUTHOR

I should check a template guide for this...

Author gets up, thumping their laptop closed, heading for the door.

...We cut to--

EXT. LIBRARY - AFTERNOON

Author slowly walks up the steps, carrying a light bag over their shoulder.

INT. LIBRARY - AFTERNOON

With a batch of books in hand--formatting guides!--, Author sits on the table and grabs their laptop once again.

They flip one of the guides open, and the screen flashes on, the cursor flicking on the text editor.

AUTHOR

(whispering excitedly)

Here it is!

Double checking their references, Author proceeds to finish their script.

AUTHOR (V.O.)

It's going to be perfect now!!
