Summary
With the sundering of the Red Ring and the gruesome death of Shroud, the Z-Team -- and SDN Torrance at large -- are left picking up the pieces. Robert leaves the wreckage of SDN Torrance with a pit in his gut. The ultimate evil in his life is dead, but he still feels incomplete; Visi is gone without a trace, except for the sense memory of her lips on his in the locker room, and Mandy is now entirely aware that that happened at the same time that Robert was agreeing to dates with her.
At the end of the day he got greedy. That's all there is to it, but when he and Mandy start to unpack their issues and pursue an actual relationship together without the omissions of their past, some interesting threads come up between them and their now lost invisible woman. Robert may have amends to make, but Mandy has odd feelings to come to terms with, and both of these are significantly harder to do when Visi returns as the new leader of the Red Ring, filling the power vacuum she created with lieutenants new and old and a new mission: killing Mecha Man.
