Summary
“Mark these words, blood of my blood: the House of Black bows to no one, and those who kneel invite fate’s hand upon the line.”
Voldemort fell to a baby, the Light claimed victory, and the wizarding world decided that this was enough. The prophecy that once governed everything was fulfilled that night at Godric’s Hollow, and with it, the illusion that fate still had anything left to say.
The Malfoy twins are too young to remember the fighting, yet old enough to see its consequences. Their father bowed to Voldemort and survived, while their mother did not. Narcissa Black Malfoy remained unmarked and within the Black family’s protection, and because she never knelt, she endured.
But the Black family once forgot this truth, and ruin followed. Sirius chose righteousness and was imprisoned. Bellatrix chose devotion and was destroyed. Regulus knelt under compulsion and died from it. Andromeda fled, and in doing so, severed herself from her name and blood.
But this time, there will be no kneeling, for as canon collapses and fate loosens its hold, the Blacks do not bow, and the twins claim the Black mantle to forge a future in which the House of Black leads once more.
