Does anyone have some ibuprofen? I have a headache

Summary:

Shouta looked up as his door swung open. No knock, no warming, no awkward call from outside. Whoever this was better have a good reason, even Hizashi has the decency to knock... sometimes.

Oh, it was just Shinso

OR: Shinso has regular and painful migraines, aizawa helps him like a good mentor should

Work Text:

Shouta's office had been (somewhat) peaceful up until this point. Shouta sat at his desk, pen to paper, marking his little shit's tests. Now, shouta didn't necessarily enjoy marking or paperwork in general, but it builds up a quiet and slow atmosphere over time- two things shouta definitely didn't mind.

It was lunchtime, and usually Shouta didn't do work at this time, but today his work had really built over the day and he knew he wouldn't be able get it all done in time, so might as well get a head start. He had a free period afterwards anyway. After finally deciphering the scribbles Denki calls his spelling and moving his test to the side he moved the grab the next one, but paused when the door opened.

Shouta looked up. No knock, no warming, no awkward call from outside. Whoever this was better have a good reason, even Hizashi has the decency to knock... sometimes.

Oh, it was just Shinso.

He was in his unform, his tie loosened just enough to not get dresscoded and eyes squinting a little bit. The boy didn't open the door quickly, but if definitely wasn't slow or polite. He didn't even look at His sensei as he made his way inside, just barely closing the door. Shouta couldn't get a good look at his face but he would tell something was up.

Shino dropped the bag in his hand, dumping it at the door as he walk straight to the couch in Shouta's office and flopped rather pathetically face first into it.

Having kids in his office isn't common, but not unheard off. Aizawa would sometimes let students in who needed it. First years having panic attacks, Uraka if she nauseous, Denki if he was badly overstimulated or some third years with migraines. For some reason, childern just refuse to go to the nurses office because it's not "bad enough" to go there- yet it's bad enough to bother Shouta about.

Though even those students always asked hesitately or were forced by Shouta himself and then apologise a hundred times. shinso hadn't even said a word, or even looked at Shouta. His pace to get to that couch was just a little to desperate, it wasn't a panic attack was it? shouta Put his pen down at looked at the pathetic display across his office, his voice soft but expecting.

"Shinso? What's wrong?"

It took the boy a moment to reply, his voice quick like he really didn't even want to be talking. His voice sounded unreasonably pathetic for a 16-year old.

"M'head"

Ah, thats it. A Migraine, and probably a bad one judging on his actons so far. Shinso gets migraines pretty often just like Shouta used to, and still does. And his office is well equipped for such event, it's quiet and cool, only lit though his windows with the lights off, and of course his couch with a blanket and bucket just in case. He's even got plastic water bottles and ice packs in his mini fridge. Shouta knows how much migraines and headaches suck, especially at school.

Shinso got migraines and headaches a lot, and at first he used to always to home or to the nurses office. But either he was going there too often or his parents told him they couldnt keep pick him up because he slowly stopped going to recovery girl, though his migraines never got any better. Shouta noticed pretty quick and after watching the kid throw up and still insist he could stay at school, shouta compromised and just let him ride his annual migraines out in his office.

Wordless, Shouta stood up and walked over to the kid, crouching down and placing a hand on his head. Shinso didn't react, or even open his eyes. His head was a little hot, but not feverish, so he didn't have a fever at least. At least now he could get a good look at him. Shinso's face was pale and he was breathing a bit too hard to be normal, his face grimaced and eyes squeezed shut like sunlight personally offended him. He looked uncomfortable, as to be expected.

He was probably nauseous along with the pain, with how quickly he dropped to the couch like he could hardly walk. Shouta ways got nauseous with migraines anyway. This looked like a bad one, but shouta legally couldn't force the kid to go home unless he was dying or throwing up. He legally can't give him any drugs or medication either, shinso would have to go get some kids shit from the nurse himself. But considering how often he had these, the boy usually had some of his own panidol in his bag

Shouta looked down at the basically limp kid infront of him as his fingers moved across his head almost comfortingly. He was breathing like he was trying to not to vomit, and shouta almost hoped he would throw up because he'd actually have a reason to send the brat home, and his parents would have to come get their damn kid.

"M'sorry" the kid breathed out, as if apologising now would really make a difference.

"It's okay kid" Shouta assured him, continuing those menstruations on his head until he stood and walked over to his sad little mini fridge in his office, pulling out a water and plopping it infont of shinsos face so he couldn't ignore it. "Anything else you need-"

"Bag" he mumbled quickly, probably for Panadol. Shouta hated how much he knew this kid.

Shinso wasn't a very demanding kid, he kept to himself and rarely asked for things- including help. So if he was acting like this, it wasn't because he was being braty and expecting, but because he genuinely couldn't do anything more Shouta would have to suck up his pet pev for one worded answers for now.

Eventually shouta got him to take small sips of water before letting him lay back down. He'd decided of he didn't start feeling better he'd better send the kid to the nurses. Shouta got back to marking, but glanced up to check on his protoge more times than he'd like to admit. Shinso would get out of a grumble or huff every time he shifted onto his side or back, simply unable to get comfortable. Of course moving would only trigger his nausea and he's get uncomfortable again.

Shouta glanced up as he heard fabric moving again, watching like a silent guardian as his student got bold and tried slowly sitting up, probably to drink some water. He then watched as his student gagged from the movement and that got him on his feet. Rushing out of his seat and grabbing the bucket under the couch out just in time for shino to hurl, throwing up whatever he ate beforehand.

"It's alright Shinso.. just get it out" he mutter softer then he thought he would say, trying to reassure the boy who was probably growing embarrassed as he vomited. Shouta gently proped up the boy so he wouldn't topple used his other hand to push his purple bangs back.

"I-i don't-" Shinso started a bit frantically in-between gags. Yep, embarrassed.

"Don't talk" Shouta cut him off, which only got him a groan and another gag in return. He ran his hand though the boys hair comfortingly, much to his own dismay. Shouta didn't really mind the smell kf vomit anymore, from Hizashi's hangovers to his own poor choices that often led to gagging over the toilet- shouta was mostly desensitised to it.

When Shouta was ABSOLUTELY sure shinso was done, he took the bucket and wiped the boys face clean. One quick call later and Recovery Girl was on her way, much to the disappoint of shinso. Aizawa sat down next to the kid and leaned him against his side.

He could tell Shinso had more to say, maybe defend himself or to try and brush off the whole situation but he didn't say anything. Shouta wasnt up to argue with a teenager right now anyway.

He was sure Shinso still had a pounding head with the way he was curled up beside him, face scrunched together. But hopefully throwing up would help with the nausea, shouta usually felt a bit less dizzy after puking his insides out.

"Your alright kid, the old hags on her way to pick you up" he muttered, his hand rubbing circles on the poor kids shoulder.

"M'sorry" Shinso mumbled, as if that was all could muster up to say, it probably was.

"I know kid" Shouta murmured back

"...M'msorry" the kid repeated again

"I know kid"
