Work Text:
Percy had started to visit more and more, which Jason loved.
He had to admit, the more he got to know about Percy, the more Jason wanted to date the man.
But just because he had started to see Jason more and more didn’t mean that he lived in Gotham.
Percy still wandered around, clearly not knowing where he fit in.
Jason was starting to feel bad for the man, there were times when Jason would just follow Percy as Red Hood to make sure that he was ok, and he would end up seeing the man sleeping in his car.
It got to the point where Jason was considering giving him the keys to one of his old safe houses he didn’t need anymore.
But, even then, Jason would be busy and maybe not as able to see Percy.
He could give him a key to his apartment, tell him that if he ever needed a place to crash, Jason’s home was open.
Well, he’d have to think about it, it would be a long shot anyways. From the little Jason’s heard of Percy’s life, he was always moving, though he never said why.
Jason turned back to the paperwork in front of him, why did no one tell him that being a Crime Lord would come with so much paperwork?
By the time he came to an end with the work, he decided that next time he saw Percy, he would offer him a key, and he wouldn’t force Percy to take it. Jason got the feeling that Percy liked feeling free.
——————————-
Percy and Jason had planned their next meeting in a park, they were just going to walk around for a bit.
It had been a couple weeks, almost two months, since they last saw each other in person, so they were both excited.
When Jason got off his motorcycle, Percy ran up to him like an excited puppy and quickly hugged him, hugging became his type of greeting quickly and Jason never minded, his hugs weren’t as bad as Dick’s were, and he could always get out of them if he wanted to.
Jason never did.
After Percy broke apart, they started walking down the park pathway, Percy seemed to do a mix of signing and talking, signing taking the lead.
Percy just smiled, he didn’t have to look down or look up to look right at Percy's eyes, they were the same height so it made it easier.
Percy seemed to sense Jason’s hesitance, so he finally broke from what he was asking and looked Jason in the eyes, “what’s wrong?” He asked, voice quite.
Jason shook his head, “nothing, I just… Percy, can I ask you a question?” He asked, Percy nodded, eyes starting to fill with worry.
“Do you, do you have a place to sleep, or do you sleep in your car?” Jason asked.
Percy looked away, head down as he signed his answer, ‘I just float around, don’t really have the money for hotels, and everything I need is in my car,’ he replies.
Jason sighed, knowing that was the most likely answer, he pulled out the extra key he had, “well, if you wanted, I have some extra room in my apartment, so when you're in town you can stay there,” he offers as he holds out the key, Percy looks up at him shocked, not sure how to respond before signed again, hands visibly shaking doing so, ‘you sure?’
Jason nodded, smiling.
Percy took the key into his hands, scanning it over for a moment before launching himself at Jason.
Jason let out a small “oof,” as Percy collided with him, but made no move of getting out of the hug, instead, wrapping his arms around the other man, whose shoulders were shaking a bit.
When Percy pulled away, Jason looked at him before huffing, “I’ll take that as a yes?”
Percy looked at him before nodding his head fast, Jason was afraid that he’d get whiplash from doing so.
Jason laughed, hugging Percy again.
Now he knew while in Gotham, Percy would be safe.
