Percy would always let Jason know ahead of time when he was going to be visiting, this way, it gave Jason time to clean and restock his kitchen. One thing he found out about Percy is that the man knew how to cook and he made a lot of brazilian or hawaiian dishes.
Jason needed to do his weekly grocery run when he felt a presence behind him, clearly hurried.
Jason spun around, honestly ready for a fight but reconized the mop of black hair on tan skin.
“Percy?” he asked. The man’s greenish blue eyes stared right into him, but something was wrong, he kept looking around before turning back to Jason.
“Perce, what’s wrong?” Jason asked, quieter.
Percy shook his head, “I… I didn’t plan on stopping, but I needed to grab something to eat, and people keep like, hitting on me and I don’t like it,” he whispered.
Jason sighed, they were in Crime Alley, but it was day. If it was night time, no one would even be trying anything like that, Red Hood protected everyone.
“Here, stay with me, but Percy, if you want them to get off your back, I… I could pretend to be your partner,” he slightly whispered.
Percy, looking for a way to get out of the people hitting on him, quickly agreed, attaching himself right next to Jason, making sure to stay in the line of sight of the man.
While in the store, no one came up to the two of them, whether it was because of Jason’s stature, or they didn’t follow Percy in, either one was possible.
Jason quickly payed, Percy helped bag the groceries before the two of them lock up, Percy very quickly tensed.
Clearly, the people hitting on Percy didn’t leave.
As the two of them walked past a group of what seemed like men around his and Percys age, he started to hear low whistles and soft laughs, Percy shrunk further into himself as the group did so. Jason sighed, turning to address the group, “Hey, who you cat calling?” he asked.
Jason had decided to walk a bit farther back than Percy, making it seem like they were just two shoppers leaving the store at the same time.
Percy kept walked, knowing what Jason was planning.
One of the men laughed, “oh, just the nice looking guy over there,” he said, pointing in Percy’s direction.
“You mean my partner?” Jason asked, eyes narrow.
All the men seemed to grow paler at the realization before they all quickly ran off, Jason shook his head as he quickly caught up to Percy.
“Hey, why don’t you come stay with me for at least the night?” Jason asked as Percy helped him put the few bags of groceries in the carrying part of his motorcycle.
Percy considered it for a moment before nodding, signing thank you to Jason.
Jason smiled as he hoped onto his motorcycle, Percy getting in his car not to far from his motorcycle and started following Jason back to his apartment.
