Chapter Text
“Hey, Mario!” Kirby said enthusiastically.
“Oh, what’s up, Kirby? How’s everything going?” Mario replied.
“I’m doing fantastic!” Kirby said as he leapt into the air. “Bandana Dee and I are going to the movie theater later!”
“That’s awesome, I’m glad to hear that,” Mario said, giving Kirby a high-five. As Kirby walked away, Luigi sat down next to Mario.
“I’m back with the food,” Luigi said as he placed the trays down on the table.
“Alright, let’s dig in,” Mario said as he picked up the fork next to him and took a bite of his baked potato, which was about the size of his head.
“Jeez, you sure you’ll be able to finish that?” Luigi asked, letting out a small chuckle.
“Hell yeah,” Mario said, mouth full of potato.
"I don't think so, Mario, that thing is pretty massive," Luigi kept chuckling.
"Wanna bet?" Mario said, joining in on the chuckling.
"Sure. How much?" Luigi pulled out his wallet.
"Twenty bucks?" Mario said, pulling out his wallet as well.
"Deal," Luigi said, shaking Mario's hand and putting a twenty-dollar bill on the table. Mario put one down, too. Without saying another word, Mario took a big bite of the potato and kept doing so until there were only about three more bites to go, then he stopped.
"Oh?" Luigi said. "Are you done?"
"No, no, I'm just taking a bit of a break," Mario said, burping loudly.
"I'll allow it," Luigi said. Mario burped again, holding his stomach. Luigi raised an eyebrow, staring Mario down.
"Yeah, no, I'm not finishing that," Mario said, looking at Luigi, who had a big smile on his face.
"Yes! I told you, man!" Luigi exclaimed, snatching the two twenties off the table. "Never make a bet that involves food with me. I know my stuff, bro."
"Oh, don't rub it in, man," Mario said, burping once more. "Oh my god, my stomach feels like it's going to explode," He said before getting up and running to the bathroom. Luigi laughed and took a sip of his drink.
"Hey, Luigi," Pac-Man said from behind. "This place is amazing."
"Pac-Man? I thought they only let Nintendo characters in here," Luigi said, confused.
"Yeah, I just waved my Smash Bros Third Party card, and they let me right in," Pac-Man explained.
"Oh, wow, I didn't even know that was a thing," Luigi said.
"Yeah, they give them to all the third-party fighters. I'm surprised you haven't seen other third parties here, I know Megaman comes in all the time," Pac-Man said as Mario walked out of the bathroom.
"Oh, hey Mario," Pac-Man said as Mario stumbled over to the table and plopped down in the chair.
"Whoa, dude, you okay?" Luigi asked Mario.
"I think I just threw up everything I've eaten for the past three days," Mario said weakly. "I feel ten pounds lighter."
"Jeez, man, what happened?" Pac-Man asked. Mario didn't answer, so Pac-Man looked at Luigi with a confused expression.
"Oh, he just ate a massive baked potato really fast," Luigi explained.
"Why exactly?"
"We made a bet that he wouldn't be able to eat the whole thing."
"Ah. Who won?" Pac-Man asked. Luigi didn't say anything as he pulled out the forty dollars and showed it to Pac-Man.
"I guess that answers my question," Pac-Man laughed. "Well, I'm gonna go to the bowling alley, care to join me?"
"Nah, I don't think bowling is a good idea considering the state Mario is in," Luigi said.
"Alright, I'll see you two later then."
