A Kiss is Worth a Thousand Words

Summary:

After so much time spent apart, Rolan is feeling a little neglected, and you plan on making it up to him.

Day 4 of #RolanInto2026 — NSFW Prompt: “Show me how much you missed me.”

Work Text:

Seven words. That’s all it took for you and Rolan to go tumbling around in his study, knocking into book stacks and his desk, just to get as much of a taste of each other as possible.

You haven’t seen him in months. You’ve both been busy—him with his new tower to run and you with your non-stop adventures. It’s been far too long since you’ve even set foot in Baldur’s Gate, and when you came to see Rolan after so much time away, he seemed rather agitated with you.

At first, he said it was because you were running away. What happened to all your plans? The plans he’s heard time and time again of what you’d do once you finally got that tadpole out of your head. He figured you’d be settling down like you had mentioned, not running off to seek out more danger and run errands for people you’ve barely met.

It’s the same old tale with you. You can’t stay in one spot, you’ve got to be moving. When you tried to assure Rolan that your plans haven’t changed at all—rather you were figuring out ways of solidifying that plan—he then switched accusations on you and claimed that you were running away from him.

There has been plenty of wild talk from his mouth before, but that was the most shocking you’ve ever heard. Run away from him? All you’ve ever done is run to him, even if he’s been unaware of it. Yet, when you made your truth known, he huffed and crossed his arms, and with that he tipped the scales in a direction you hadn’t planned for.

He had asked you to prove it. If you were really here for him, if you really wanted to stay with him and have been wanting that for a while, then he needed proof of your sincerity, and out came those seven words that changed everything.

“Show me how much you missed me.”

Seconds later, you had Rolan pushed against his desk, your hands wound in his robes, and your lips on his.

Rolan grunts against your lips, but any sort of temper he had with you before evaporates when his arms wrap around you, pulling you in as close as physically possible. Though, he still has a knack for being snappy when he bites down on your lip. When you gasp at the sting, he smiles against your lips and licks over the mark.

“Did that hurt?” he rumbles, causing your stomach to spin.

“Yes,” you admit, curling your fingers even tighter in his robes. “Do it again.”

The deep, resonant sound emits straight from his chest this time as he kisses you passionately, and the brief wonder of why he didn’t do as you asked gets trampled when his lips trail down your neck and he sinks his teeth into your skin like he’s starving.

A sharper gasp spills from your lips this time, and Rolan growls. His mouth runs wildly—kissing and biting wherever he can reach, burning the side of your neck like he’s spreading fire in his wake.

“You’ll leave marks,” you mutter, tugging on his hair.

“That’s the plan.” he sinks his fingers into your hips and kisses back up to your mouth. “Now, do you act on your words or not?”

“What?”

The dizzied expression on your face makes Rolan chuckle lowly, dragging his fingers to the front of your body and undoing the fastenings on your clothes.

“You’re going to make it up to me, aren’t you?” he murmurs. “Or were you lying when you said you missed me?”

With a hitch in your breath, you grab his hands, stopping his eagerness before it gets too far. Not without your say so, at least.

“That’s right, so let me do all the work,” you say, then gently nudge him. “Lie back for me.”

Even the command makes Rolan smile, looking like a fervid, lovesick fool, and he obeys without a spark of retaliation. He shifts up the desk, lying back and reaching for your hips when you come up to join him, settling in his lap.

“Be a good boy and make sure I don’t fall?” you murmur.

Another chuckle and he gives your hips a squeeze. “My darling, I think it’s too late for that.”
