The day had almost come to an end and neither Teru or Akane had ran into each other, Which is weird, because Teru usually makes it his mission to bug Akane at least once near the start of the day, and also, especially since it's the first day back from winter break, and it's at least been a few weeks since they've talked. Not like Akane was complaining, the peace was definitely a good thing for him, it just felt too out of character for Teru. Well, whatever. He would see him later in the student council room today.
As the last bell rang he made his way to the council room and there he was, the smug bastard. He glanced around the council room, he was expecting some other members, however they were the only ones. “Tch, of course.” Akane muttered under his breath, causing Teru to glance up and acknowledge him, however– Teru simply widened his eyes slightly, carefully examining Akane. Akane rolled his eyes and took out some paperwork. “Hah, let's see… Art students asking permission for funds to get new supplies..They can never get enough huh? The sports team requires some of their own funds, the mathematics group needs.. apples? What..? Oh– it's for a visual presentation at the museum, they're going there to.. present right?...” Akane glanced up to see Teru had pushed himself closer, still having his eyes fixated on him. “What- do I have something on my glasses?” Teru blinked and averted his gaze, a slight blush creeping up on him. “Hm, no, not as far as I can see.” Akane narrowed his eyes. “Then why are you so silent and just staring at me? Perv.” Akane laughed softly before he heard the rustle of Teru's beaded bracelet and quickly zipped it. “Okay!- Okay.. but seriously what's the issue?” Teru smirked as Akane realized what he had said. “Ah, worried for me Aoi~?” Akane rolled his eyes and brushed him off. “I'm serious, you know.” Akane said, his voice more stern. Teru chuckled and leaned on his hand, as it held his own face.
“Your hair.”
“Hah–?”
“Your hair,” Teru repeated, ”It got longer over the break. It suits you!” Teru smiled softly and Akane rolled his eyes yet again. Teru wasn't wrong, his hair did grow quite longer, his hair always grew unnaturally quick. But the way Teru always had that tone that threw Akane off, since he could never tell if he was being true, and you would have to catch him 6 feet under before he asked if Teru was being honest. “Tch, you're just saying that.” Teru paused and blinked softly. “You think I'm lying?” Akane's face didn't change. “Hm, I'm hurt, Aoi.. but I mean it.” Akane paused writing on the paper, but didn't look up. “You know, it almost reminds me of her highness. But obviously her hair is better in many ways. But I honestly think it suits you!” Akane scoffed, but he was clearly flustered at the sudden compliment. It almost seemed like Teru didn't hate him, he always assumed the feeling was mutual.
“Well, what makes hers so much better? I'm curious.” Akane mumbled and he flipped through papers. Teru chuckled and leaned over. “Well, for starters, her hair is much more shiny, and soft, and easy to style. I'd imagine your hair is easier to brush, though.” He smiled at the last remark of his sentence and Akane nodded to all his reasons. “But, I do like the amber color of your hair more than the yellow-blonde.”
Teru let out a soft grin before taking some of the papers from Akane. “Oh, and to answer your question earlier, Aoi, yes. They're doing a presentation over at the museum.” Akane was left in utter shock. Just like that? How is he so.. simple with these things?While yes, Teru hardly struggles with flirting, it felt different..
Genuine.
Akane sighed and turned back to the paperwork, hiding his face before the blush could creep up on him and Teru would notice.
For now they'll focus on the work.
